Mi2 & mi3

I was pretty young when these games came out but fell in love with the series with MI4 so I was wondering how I can play these games?

You might want to wait and see if they come to Steam or other online stores, now that LucasArts is back into that kind of thing. If you'd rather not wait, try eBay or Amazon.

I don't think I've known anyone to love the series after the 4th game XD definitely check out the 2nd and 3rd, they are arguably the two best of the 4. I would just get them on ebay.

If you're from the UK your best bet is the Monkey Island Bounty Pack. Not sure what to do if you're from the US, I don't think they released any decent compilations there so it probably would be best just to wait until they release them on Steam, but that might be a while yet. I think they will space out their releases and they only just released the first batch.

When you buy them you'll probably need to run them through ScummVM, but they're definitely worth the purchase.

And there's nothing wrong with that because, honestly, I think it's the best way to play these games anyway. Not even the Steam versions have all ScummVM's best functions such as complete Soundfont support for MIDI and all the different graphics modes.

At the very least, you could try to hunt down a demo of CoMI (i know for a fact that there was one, not sure about MI2) and see if it runs on your OS.

it WILL run with scummvm, not really much point doubting that. But it might be good to check out a demo beforehand anyway, just to give it a try :)

The demos can be found on ScummVMs homepage:

I believe the OP was asking about the second and third games. The special edition is only the first game. :p

Maybe because he asked for MI2 and MI3.

You can usually find the MI2 file somewhere out there on the net as a download, and run it through scummvm.

Except downloading it like that's a tad illegal.

Sure. And while you're at it, you can also find Curse, Escape, and the first chapter of Tales. Sure, it's illegal, but who cares, right?
