    Soon?

Sometime in August definitely, and I bet everyone are crossing their fingers hoping that it's early August.

Yea, I'd like it out at least till 10th.. Its a shame I will only be able to play rest of the chapters after the finish of my military service...:(

When is TTG's usual release date for when they release the release date?

Well they just released the release date for the release of W&G Chapter 4, 2 days before said release. Now they have the first ToMI Episode out , I guess they would wait before announcing Chapter 2 until a lot closer, gives them more scope to make any changes.

    Probably.

I heard some where is was Aug 9th can anyone confirm that?
  • edited July 2009
No, the 9th has been announced somewhere but it wasn't based on anything official, jake or someone else from the telltale staff denied it.

The thing with pre release info is that the longer it is out on the net... the more spoiler-ish the media/info becomes... because the longer we obsess over it, the more we might be able to pick out of it.

They also prefer to keep tight release dates just in case they have to make a last minute change.

The release date isn't August 9th, it will be a bit further into the month than that, for sure. That said, I don't know the date. If we could pin right now the exact date the game was coming out, we'd tell you. Fireworks, trumpets and cherubs, etc.

Sorry for your tears! It's the double-edged sword of game development and releasing. People say they'd like us to take a little more time to give the games a bit more love, and then are sad when we say it will be coming out a little later than they guessed it would.
  • edited July 2009
Meh, I can wait. Just don't forget the cherubs.
  • edited July 2009
Just post the materials (screenies, trailers, previews, etc.), and we'll be able to wait.
  • edited July 2009
Just post us the source code while you're at it.

Or a picture saying "IT WILL BE COMING, I SWEAR!"

    Take your time, TellTale! :)
We waited many years, now we can wait some days to have a quality game!
And thank you for all your work!!!!! :D

As long as it gets released in august i'm fine, take your time, make it as good as possible!

Make us another cool book cover and we'll forgive you.

That's ok, it means I should be home when it comes out!

You'd better make good on that promise. Explosive fireworks, blaring trumpets, and pirate cherubs!

Oh, and the release date too.

As long as the wiiware version gets released with the PC version( or maybe a day after or so) I'll be happy.

Take your time! I think the 2 months after episode 1 of a series is a good idea because it gives you a bit more breathing space..

Love is more important than an earlier release date. Love is a many splendored thing. All you need is love.

Honestly if it the game is not ready in August i'd say to TTG that release it when its ready. I prefer a high quality game than a game early and bugged and bad in gameplay. So for me i think its better in the long road for both TTG and the fans if we wait whatever the time is we have to wait.
  • edited July 2009
of course we all want it now, but there's no rush, just go and play the special edition while you wait.

    Thanks for informing us Jake.

And yes, it's done when it's done is a great way to work. After all; It'll get many more people interested in the years to come than a rushed chapter ever would.

Thanks for letting us know, Jake :)

can't wait to see it, but like the others said, take all the time you need to make it awesome.

He didn't promise that at all. All you will get is Jake and an intern waving sparklers, blowing on little plastic horns, wearing diapers and wings. :p

Dude just have patience. Making a game is just like cooking, if you serve it before its fully cooked you my get a stomache, or the food will taste bad. Thats why i prefer my meat well cooked, it tastes better and it makes up for the long time. :p

I too would prefer the Nintendo Treatment: Delay a game countinusly, and then release a really good game. I think it was Miyamoto who once said, "A bad game is bad forever" [but I forgot the beginning of the quote :)]

Quality over quantity. Let them take their time, putting their hearts into it.

Replay value is not to be underestimated. Better to have a game enjoyable enough for later replays, than a mediocre time waster that you'll never bother to play again.

All you need is love. *whistles* All you need is love. ALL TOGETHER! *whistles* All you need is love, love. Love is all you need. Is that what you were thinking about? :D

"A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever."

Anyway, I don't mind delays, particularly if it means we get click to move as a new control scheme.

Just take your time. I'd rather like to play a good game later than a bad game sooner.

Don't hold your breath. Or do - then we won't have to have this tired debate over again.

DAMNIT! I have been waiting since July 2nd to play the 2nd episode because I finished the first episode in a day and a half and I even went back and played it all over again. I just hope it comes out soon. I'm just too excited about it!!

It is a double edged sword indeed. Schedules are more important with episodes than other games, but at the same time, no one wants a game rushed out before it's done.

Anyway, take your time, we'd all rather see it polished. It's not like you're Valve, jerking us around for months into years.
