unofficial joker discussion
the joker is such an iconic batman villain that I thought that his inclusion in telltale's batman deserved its own disscussion feel free to post your opinions or theories about joker in telltale's batman

I'm completely fine with Telltale for including the Joker, first of all. I'm sure they'll do a good job with his characterization and all that jazz. He may be overused, but that doesn't mean that he'll overshadow the rest of the cast, or be a plot-crutch, or an overall negative addition. I'm both hyped and hopeful. I'm already loving the voice actor too.
I feel that we'll only see him in this episode, and that he won't have a super huge role. Bruce and him will meet in the asylum, and they'll maybe help one another escape. I bet they'll have some interesting relationship dynamics. Joker will escape due to Bruce, and if there will be any sequels, I'm sure Bruce will come to regret his hand in the guy's escape.
For those of us who were ambivalent, I think some consolation here is that TT seems to be splitting the difference here in making him a crucial, but not central character. Like, Joker's iconic status obligates his influence in some form, but that doesn't necessarily mean he has to be a key mastermind this go around. I think that's a fair way to shake it.
Joker's presence at Arkham also adds another layer of uncertainty about what Bruce's options are for coming out of this, especially since we're seeing Joker in presumably his larval stage. Hey, what do you know, kinda like Batman.
But Joker's ubiquity in everything Batman these days, I think, is just a reflection of how useful of a foil he is. So for Bruce/Batman's overall character development, I'm keeping an open mind.
I could be hilariously wrong of course. Maybe he is pulling all the strings? But kinda loving how the minute he lands,
Not that I'm judging. The hype for Tues is already giving me facial tics
Before the reveal, I was hoping for Dr. Harleen Quinzel to make an appearance, but it appears unlikely.
My headcanon: Joker might claim that he fought with Batman at Ace Chemicals, shortly before the fire. This will trigger a flashback from Batman's perspective. The clown was arrested for assaulting a cop(s) that was nearby the fire at Ace Chemicals started. Think of it as an added scene fot the end part the backstory shown in The Killing Joke.
Something tells me he not the joker yet
I hope Joker doesn't become the final villain because I was tired of him in the Arkham games
Same though I would like s2 to be the rise of joker.
"But Joker's ubiquity in everything Batman these days, I think, is just a reflection of how useful of a foil he is."
And he is Batman's Archenemy, the perfect nemesis for the Caped Crusader.
Joker in something Batman related is as expected and eventual as Lex Luthor showing up in some form in anything Superman related.
I do wonder if they're going to touch on whether he fell into a vat of chemicals at Ace Chemicals, and if Batman was involved, as per tradition (and the only thing generally consistent with Joker's origin). Be interesting to see if Bruce can piece it together.
I also wonder if he's interested in Batman yet, and how he views him compared to Bruce and what's going on in Gotham, if not quite to the level of being obsessed with him yet...
He might hear about batman saving gotham from two face and the COA and his obsession will start.
That would be cool. Hearing about Batman and the craziness in Gotham this season inspires him to become the Clown Prince of Crime that the city deserves.
As others have pointed out, I think it's an interesting reversal that Joker meets Bruce but not Batman. I wonder how much that dynamic will come into play throughout the rest of the series.
Indeed
Not a major villan role, but a completely different role than other batman series
I hope there is an iconic dialogue in this series as well
