Where is the Federal Government?
I just finished the episode and seriously? Great episode, not saying it isn't but one major thought came into my head time after time while playing: "Where is the Feds?"
"Yeah, take it up with City Hall"
Really? They should be taking it up with the Supreme Court.
Gotham is in New Jersey, and Dent had completely blocked the people of Gotham their 4th Amendment right and turned Gotham into a police state. That's not legal and it is completely unconstitutional. Military blockades? Executions of law enforcement? Blowing up entire streets? Martial Law? There is no way in hell that the Federal Government hasn't come in and shut Dent down. So, one question after this episode, why is Gotham some how turned into a police state with no federal intervention?

Well apparently Bruce was in Arkham for two days and Alfred had no idea about the blockades when they first ran into them so I'm guessing they were extremely new and it may take time for people to find out/do something. This has been something happening for a matter of hours and possibly literally two days at the most.
While that can be a reasonable explanation for how there is no immediate reaction by the feds, but it would have been nice if it was addressed at all. Information gets around so fast and it would be unreasonable to say that no one beyond Gotham knew about what was happening.
Hi all. Very good questions indeed. As a general rule the Federal Goverment used defer to the State and local districts in times of"Civil Unrest". But the Patirot Act, Inables the US Feds to have the ball so to speak. My question is did 9/11 happen in DC's world? If yes....Then the Mayor can act on behalf of the Us goverment. But you'd think National Guard, not goons! Lucky for us Two Face is a nutjob. Batman beats up "Drugged National Guards". The Internet would break. Besides TTG couldn't afford backlash,DC WB..maybe? Just a thought.
