Grrr

Hi, this is my first post here, but i'm a regular at WorldofMI.

I'd like to ask a question.

My pc isn't able to play Tales, and I have been waiting eagerly for the WiiWare release, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the news post announcing the release date, until I saw that it was only in America, where is the European release date?

I am trying to be optimistic here, as I am hoping tomorrow will be the day, but now I'm not too sure...

Don't get me wrong, I love Telltale, but I somehow feel I've been left out.

Can someone from the team clear up whether or not it will come out tomorrow, I cant stand the tension!:)

I believe the release date on WiiWare in Europe is really Nintendo of Europe's call...

Hehe, everytime I finish it I think, "Hey what if I gave the breathmints to Elaine" or "what if I used the monkey coffin on the monkey..." and I end up playing the whole thing again.

Monkey Coffin on monkey was the best bit on the ship.

Just wondering, have you tried changing the graphics settings on the PC version? IIRC, they're set to the highest by default, and I think you have to do a bit of digging to get to them.

The cursor is impossible to use and the controls are delayed by about 8 seconds. I don't think I could bear it. And yes the graphics are down to 1 and I'm running in a window, but, alas, to no avail.:(

Here is something to do while you wait though, play the treasure hunting minigame in the demo, if you know how to play it, it has real prizes too.

You could tell us a bit about your PC, such as processor and graphics card.

Maybe it is just a matter of a few bucks to make the game running fluently and therefore enabling you to playing it soon.

    It should work just fine.

Have you tried adjusting the quality? About around 1?
  • edited July 2009
Yeah, is there any certain resolution I should set it at.

And I've set it at quality 1, but it still doesn't work well at all.:(

Oh yeah, and my Windows Experience index is 3.5 for Graphics and 3 for Gaming.

I sounds like your computer should be able to run this fine.

I don't think running in a window will do anything for performance. Try playing full screen and turning the resolution down to the lowest setting. I tried playing this in 1080p on my laptop and it ran pretty slow, so I knocked it down to 720p (playing on my TV, hence the resolutions)

Playing any game windowed may turn your games slower than needed be. It is always best to run such games full-screen.

I'd recommend putting the resolution as low as you can and playing full screen.

You'll get better framerates fullscreen than windowed, and lowering resolution is the easiest way to improve framerates for anything.

Also, check what your power settings are by hovering over the battery icon in the right hand corner. I know on my Dell laptop, I have a 'Power saver' mode, which makes everything alot slower. If you see a high performance setting, then change to that.

To answer your question, its out today in Europe isn't it?
  • edited July 2009
Yup, it is out in Europe already. Go get it, Brush Guy, before you pass away!
