Kill the cop at the beginning of episode 5 if you don't sleep with selina?

  • Harvey has no way of knowing that Bruce and Selina did nothing together. Really, how could he possibly know? Bruce's testimony would already be suspicious, considering how bad things looked. Throw Harvey's state of mind into the mix, and it's pretty much impossible for him to not draw the wrong conclusion. Seeing that presumed betrayal was his breaking point, and made him unable to see that Bruce was truly there for him as his other personality gained dominance. And really, Bruce could not always be there for him. Bruce could fail the guy so many times on his journey of trying to keep Harvey from becoming Two-Face. You can even play a Bruce that truly just gave up on him. YouTube...seeing that Bruce broke my heart.

I was under the impression that, if your Bruce failed to be encouraging to Harvey during that sequence, each hostage would die. He'd flip the coin every time Bruce failed to help him do the right thing, and it would always land on the side that negated the hostage's life. Apparently, that idea was wrong. Every death that occurs there is truly dependent on chance, at least after the first one. The first cop practically needed to die to fully establish that whatever the coin says goes. He's truly relying on the flip of a coin to decide people's fate, and even relies on it to tell him whether he should take his own life or not. He's entirely controlled and vulnerable to the random result. (This was typed extremely early and minutes after waking, so I suppose I'll see if I spoke English a few hours from now.)

  • I love that when there's a discussion involving Harvey, I can always count on a long, well thought out comment from you. :p

That thing about the coin is true, I heard someone say that Deborah died in their playthrough and I saw a playthrough where Harvey flips the coin because Bruce failed to talk him down and then he let her go.

  • Thanks. My inane rambling finally pays off!

I was searching for different versions of the scene when I found out. First, I watched this really aggressive Bruce just pretty much yell at Harvey the entire time, and everyone died. It wasn't morbid at all, really! It was hard to find more in-depth variations, but then I finally stumbled over one where Bruce chooses the "You're a murderer option", and the guy got off. What? I wanted to race on here and say what I had discovered, but quite a few people already beat me to it. It always happens that way. :'(

I absolutely love how the results are random. I found it to add to the tension. Spectacular scene, spectacular character, no matter the choice. I totally haven't said some variant of that before!
