Just doanloaded the UK Wii version....
I had already downloaded it for the PC and got it to run ok but on my low powered laptop it was only really playable on graphics level 1.
Have seen a bit of criticism of the Wii version but I downloaded it anyway. I'm delighted with it. It plays great and i can now play it on my 42 inch flatscreen from the couch.
The voice quality is slightly dodgy but apart from that, the whole thing is great!

Sure i would like these problems to be abscent from future episodes, but if it means a compromise on content, i'm happy to put up with it; so long as a fixed special edition disc version is released afterwards.
I suppose the people who said that Wii version is "unplayable" had played before the PC version at full quality. Of course they have differences, but since on PC I have only played the demo, I found the Wii verssion fully enjoyable and almost perfect.
Wii version is not THAT bad.
Well, I say, it's NOT bad at all.
A negative comment or criticism is usually 10 times louder than a compliment or praise. And it is usually the empty vessels that make the most noise.
I do wonder if the experience might have been made all the more enjoyable _because_ of the negative comments here, though? It set the expectations bar lower, so the fact the game was playable at all turned out to be a pleasant surprise?
Anyway, whatever one's initial impression of the Wiiware version, we all have reason to look forward to the next installment.
You can imagine my fear when I heard the negative comments surrounding the wiiware version.
However when I downloaded it from the european wii shop I found that the game run quite well on the Wii ( mind you my Wii is hooked on a SD TV so it must render a lower number of pixel per frame than a 480p setting ).
Sure there is some problem due to the cap limit like some low rate voice sampling or some additional loading ( still a matter of a few seconds ) due to the decompression but I was quite pleased by it.
Now here my suggestion for the future chapters ( the main reason why I've registered at this forum ):
1- In my opinion the code can be optimized to run more smoother ( I'm talking about the framerate issue that can't be caused by the decompression ).
2- At least on the Wiiware version you MUST add an option in the settings that allow to chose a bigger, crispier font for the subtitles because on a SD TV and from the sofa ( usually a couple of meters away from the screen ) it's very hard to read them.
This is actually my main problem with chapter 1 ( it's ironic how the bitching about the wiiware version haven't touch that point ).
The second point is strongly recommended because it could greatly enhance the "sofa experience" that from what I gather is one of the reason you chose to release ToMI on a console too.
For whoever is still uncertain whether to buy ToMI chapter 1 on Wii I say fear not because the game is faithful to the Guybrush Treepwood inheritence and the experience isn't ruined by the technical realization.
Well that's my feedback and ToMI ch.1 is my first Telltale product ever :-)
If Telltale continues to improve the quality ( both technical and gameplay ) then I'll gladly give them 50 euro ( well a small chunck go to Nintendo ).
Can the fate be with you Telltale :-)
PS: I , too, experienced a game crash hope it is a sporadic case because that shouldn't be common on a console system.
PPS: Despite the nunchuck+wiimote combo fits fantastically as control scheme, keep the wiimote only control scheme.
In my book a game that control only using the remote gains some additional points.
I'd like to see what those forum trolls are thinking now:p
I understand that being episodic means releasing things on a timely scale, but I'm sure most people wouldn't have minded all that much waiting a week or two longer to get a better product in the long run. If they'd released the Wii version of Episode One at around the same time as the PC version of Episode Two, I think we'd have been ok with that.
As it is, this is buggy and any reviewer worth his pay will criticize TT for it. As well they should. I could live with slowdown and occasional graphical glitches, but full-on freezes? For shame.
Am I the only one who can play the wiiware version without any bugs, besides the one where you press the home button during dialog which happened in sam and max as well as sbcg4ap?
