How long it took you to finish ep1

edited August 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
Maybe TTG would be interested in how long it takes players on average to finish ch1 and maybe the others..? Also just for fun.

I finished it the first night I started playing, but I should mention I didn't rush through it at all and savored every dialogue line and detail I could find, I did get a little stuck on at least one puzzle if not two... Didn't need the walkthrough or hints.

Can't wait for chapter 2! :D

"X hrs" If you finished it in one straight run through

    4 hours 24 minutes

Add a poll maybe? The average seems to be around 4 hours (was nearly 5 for me)

Some people claim 1.5hrs but quite frankly I don't believe that unless they were using as many hints as possible and skipping all dialogue.

About six hours, over two days.

If I finished it in 5 hours, over 2 days, which alternative should I choose?

lol I would go with 2 days but that's a good point

I guess the hours votes are if you finished it in one straight run

Around 4.5 hours the first time. The second time I finished it in 2-2.5 hours.

6 hours, I got stuck a while trying to figure out how to get it painted black
    2nd time I finished in 39 minutes

    I'd say about 4h

First time i played in in 2 hours. In the end i played it 5 times because i was bored and really want to find every dialog, but i was a little dissapointed because .. the old monkey island games were a little more fun (played them ~2 month before release).
Really hope the secound part will become better. Ok it really can't be bad because its monkey island, but let me dream.

I played for 5 hours, with some break in between not included. Secound time only took 2 hours but was still fun.

How long it took you to finish - The fact that I had to read this 4 times says something about my ability to think today.

I finished the chapter in 4 sessions that were about an hour each over the course of three days. So, I'm saying it took about 4 hours. Not bad considering one of those sessions was just me getting into the Narwhal... seriously, that puzzle wasn't THAT hard.

About 5 hours, but due to me being an idiot and overwriting my save... I had to replay a very large chunk of it again within those 5 hours. Plus snack time. Looking forward to some harder puzzles. For me the pacing was a bit too fast in this one.

For me it was like a day and a half. Not 36 hours though ;\ more like 4-5

But did everyone play this with hints turned off or on?

Just finished the first one a hour or so ago, since buying it last Monday,
I found out a little late that Monkey Island was back, I found out 2 Friday's ago.

Loved every minute of the game and I never once used a walk-tho, just experience of playing this sort of game.

All in all, it took me a week and a day, I like to take my time and see the game.

I just finished it. I have spent more time with this than any other Telltale game and really, really, truly enjoyed it. It took me around 5 and a half hours. I played the opening scene quite a lot until my computer decided to slug me through it but the game gets better and better and by the time you have
cornered the Marquis DeSinge into the axel
you cant help but think "This is one of the best games I have ever played.
I wasn't expecting it, but the little end puzzle was well-thought out and provided good fun. It was worth every minute.

I agree, the ending was a lot of fun!

Oh and I voted two days in the poll. I'd say about five hours overall.
