Concerning chat dialogue

I don’t like that it does not seem to matter what response I choose, guy brush defaults to a single line. I want him to say the funny response I chose like in the old game to get a different reaction to what I said. I feel like why give me options of what to say if he is going to default to a line I did not choose. Is anyone else disappointed in this?

Funny... there are numerous other threads discussing this, but you managed to chose exactly the same title as another recent one. To the letter... and that's although both times the thread title didn't even mention what was supposed to be discussed.
