[nvidia shield] Ep.6 freezing

in Minecraft: Story Mode

My son just finished Ep 5, when transitioning into Ep 6 the screen is black with the loading icon spinning away in the lower right corner.
Things tried:

*We've left it for 30 mins in hopes that it was just a slow load.
*stopped app, cleared cache ,rebooted
*stopped app, cleared cache and data then rebooted
*uninstalled, deleted folder, rebooted, then reinstalled loading cloud save

I'm out of tricks, where do I go from here?
