Do not cry, Steam Users. It'll be out soon. And you know what to do about Season 2 - more bonuses, faster download, more money for TTG - just grab your games from here...

Soon is not soon enough, now that it is out!!!!

I have no speedissues with steam, and the fact I didn't know you could buy it direct from here....

    yes!

    Just release it already steam!!

Hmm, I don't really consider waiting a few more hours for the game to be available on Steam as "being shafted". Considering there's a full month between releases, it's actually no concern at all (for me).

No, but is it true that you don't get that DVD thing at the end of the season if you buy off Steam?

or is the internet, as the usual, a cavern of lies?
  • edited August 2009
Ikzai, that is true. I also don't have any need for physical media (my computer doesn't even have a CD or DVD drive). So this also doesn't concern me. It's not true for everyone though.

Come to think of it, I haven't used any optical media in my primary computer for over a year and a half now.

Then, my good sir, I do believe that constitutes as "shafted", eh? ^_^

Truth. It happened to both Sam & Max seasons and SBCG4AP so far, at least. No reason why it won't change. It's largely due to Telltale not being able to track who has the whole season on other stores.

See you all in a few hours!

Considering you made that choice then I don't think it's a case of Telltale 'shafting' you guys, but you guys 'shafting' yourselves.

You had the choice [and being truly shafted means that developers don't give you, the consumer, one at all]. ;)

all this long wait then it's completed a few hours later.

I buy these games for... wait for it... the GAME. If we really want to talk about someone getting screwed here, it's the Wii users.

Oh really? What if the servers go down?

With Telltale, once it's unlocked you can keep it forever without having to ask the servers.

Same thing with steam its called offline mode, you are free to take backups of your steam games, it really amazing ey. :)

sometimes you shouldn just join a little hate club to be hip and square, you should read and form your own opinion.

Steam rocks!, and other services like it, they services are the savior of the pc platform, else we would all have STAR FORCE infested games today.

and as a side note, i just cant tolerate Telltales slow download speed 5-600kb/s lmao, i always run 2.4mb/s thats 2400kb/s big difference. I have the need for speed.

Well, I've been running Steam since Halfllife 2 came out in 2004 and it has been once the servers were down for a couple of hours. Last time I had problems wasn't Steams fault anyway, the actication process for Football manager 2009 problems. Also I can access my games anywhere I want, just need a PC with internett..

Damm it, diddent expect it to come before the 21 (like the last EP was "1 day" after release) and im really drunk right now, so i dont think i can play it before tomorrow eanyway :/ but i love you telltale :)

Tales of Steam internet connection requirements have been largely overstated, running in offline mode is trivial. (Ran my computer for nearly three months in offline mode at one point, playing steam games with no problem.) Really, if you not wanting to use Steam is your message, that's OK. I totally grok. But there really is no argument for harassing Steam users.

Oh wait, game is downloaded. Too bad I have to work, my posting here is done.

Actually, the offline mode is a bit iffy, and tends to break (in my experience). The last statement is kind of defeated by the existence of SecuROM, which is basically StarForce 2.0.

Ah, whatever. Go play it how you want.

Thanks for that, but strangely enough I only have the free copy of Sam n Max that I got with MonkeyIs (which I can download) and a mention of an Taleofmonkey invoice as well as an invoice for the sam n max ep.

    ?

Its still not available.... just a stupid invoice saying that I've paid and a link to a free Sam n Max episode that I dont wanna play....

I just want my monkey island ep2...!!

    ANyone !?

They ought to change the forum's subtitle to reflect chapter two's release; chapter one is old news.

I'm downloading it now, but probably won't play it until tonight or tomorrow night.
