Tales of Monkey Island
The Siege of Spinner Cay

Whoa it's here!

Guybrush's adventures continue on the high seas as pox-plagued pirates lay siege to the innocent Mer-People. In between defending the Mer-People and dodging the persistent pirate hunter hot on his trail, Guybrush manages to catch up to his beloved wife and despised arch-nemesis -- but their reunion is short-lived. Now Guybrush must focus on eradicating the Pox of LeChuck before more harm can be done. And as the Mighty Pirate draws closer to a cure, the waters will only grow murkier in this thrilling chapter of the epic saga.

But yet the first one says no rating provided? ..

*Just a nerdy observation I guess*

i am about half hour in and i think it is great.

Currently playing through it, slightly stuck at the moment so I just popped on here to see what people think. The game is definitely amazing, the whole
    look/use/etc conversation with LeChuck
    is great.

I have played the first few minutes, finished chapter one and a little bit of chapter two. One thing can be said for sure: it's funny and atmospheric. Two thumbs up so far, except for the bad sound quality with s-sounds (especially with Elaine's dialogue).

EDIT: Oh yeah, that "Previously on Monkey Island"-kind-of scene was cool, using the tarot cards from the wallpaper :)

I'm supposed to get an email about this, right? With a link to the download? Or do I pick it up myself?

I feel stupid now :S Can't think because of overexcitedness :D

Played some of it briefly, long enough to hear Guybrush
    whistle the Largo LaGrande theme!

Seems like it will be a very fun episode!

Well it's up on Steam. I feel sorry for the guys downloading at 60KB/s. I'm getting 1.2 MB/s from Steam. In the time it's taken to type this post 40% of the download has already completed.

I noticed that too :) Such a great piece of foreboding, I guess

Hmm, the download bar hit 100%, and then the whole thing just disappeared. What happened?

So when is it coming out on Wii?

I'm loving this so far. It's far funnier than chapter 1. I loved the bit where
you are helping LeChuck. I told him to use the claw thingy with the the breath mints. "Okay, I made it all minty, now what?"
Haha classic! "Nothing, I just wanted to see if you'd do it" Haha! & when you tell him to use
the claw thingy with himself. "Now stay there, I'll just get my camera."
    LOL!

Just bout to start installing it now, thanks Telltale for this, had a really crappy day at work, glad to "monkey" around for a bit. :D:D

So is anyone else stuck? I'm near what I feel is the end of the chapter, but guybrush is referring to someone on screen who I don't see on screen and I'm pretty sure is the key to moving on. And there appears to be a graphical oddity near where I think this person should be on the screen. (trying not to spoil here).

    ARG!

Me too! I thought she was a great new character :D Can't help but feel a little cheated by being lead to believe she was a returning character though...

Easily forgivable though since this is getting better and better :) I don't know if it's maybe just my computer, but transitions between screens are a lot faster and smoother than in the first chapter.

Graphical touch ups are also apparent :D All in all this is the better chapter of the two, both storywise and quality!

    Well done Telltale! :D

Only for those, who finished \ are near finishing the episode.
Right, just finished without any major blocks (well, only one major and one minor). Here's what I think:
    - Spinner Cay - brilliant, beautyfull, climatic location. Mer-folks - great (for a while I was affraid TT will reuse SeaChimps from S'n'M, but fortunetley thei mennaged to create great characters)
    - Spoon Island - wandering in the jungle with lots of useles locations wasn't fun but every sin of this part of the story is redeemed by human LeChuck - he's awsomest part of ToMI to this point.
    - Blocks - major one: whole fishing well part (using bait with hook in this location, useless fish eggs). Minor one: rubber mast - maybe my poor brain was just tired and forgot about this little location where the tree was.
For me - it was a bit better than Episode 1 - longer and more challenging, Great work, TT!
And a little thing I noticed: Google published a spoiler about the nature of the Merfolks:

Oh man that was epic :)

    The good:
    - The swordfight in the beginning
    - Morgan leFlay, great new character
    - Winslow, not too memorable in chapter 1 but really funny in this one. His strange obsession with the map-pointing was gold
    - Hated the re-use of character models in chapter 1 (Wiii!!!) but they're pretty good in this one, especially the tall one (just replace the nose, eyes, hair and beard and you can have a lot of these walking around)
    - The amount of actual pirates. I think this is the first time in the whole series that we've actually seen a bunch of pirates trying to plunder the place... well.. living pirates anyway...
    - The slight fantasy aspect, the merfolk.
    - Something big actually happening to Guybrush (his hand).
    - The human LeChuck thing is very interesting (and how idiotic is Guybrush for letting Elaine go with him)

    The slightly bad:
    - Sound quality in the royal chamber was really bad, although it got a lot better when they left that place.
    - Marquis de Singe's background. My pc is pretty old so I have to play on the 3rd graphics level and the pixel-y background was really distracting in that scene

Anyway, you nailed the thing I love most about the Monkey Island games; the story :)
Can't wait to see this adventure continue!

And man, my hands are itching, I really want to do a TMI comic...
