The "I hope I don't need a sturgeon" one was probably the best.

So I was bored. What of it?
    Why did the fish
    need an aspirin?

    He had a haddock.
    Why didn't the fish
    cross the road?

    To prove he was no
    chicken.
    "Knock knock"

    "Who's there?"

    "A fish with a five
    second memory."

    "A fish with a five
    second memory
    who?"

    "Where am I?"
    What did the sign
    on the empty
    nuclear reactor say?

    Gone Fission.
    What's a fish with
    no eye?

    Fsh.
    How do fish get so
    smart?

    They live their
    whole life in
    schools!
    What do you get
    when you cross a
    killer whale with a
    cow?

    I don't know, but
    don't try to milk it!
    Where do fish keep
    their money?

    In a river bank!
    Why do manatees
    have so many
    wrinkles?

    You try ironing one!
    What's green and
    has 3,000 teeth?

    A great white pickle.
    How do you stop a
    fish from smelling?

    Plug up it's[sic] nose!
    Where can you find
    a shrimp with no
    legs?

    Right where you left
    it.
    What should you do
    if you find a shark
    in your bed?

    Sleep somewhere
    else.
    What did the fish
    say when he ran into
    a wall?

    Dam!

    ... I agree with Guinea.

"It's" is correct in that context. Why did you put [sic]? the nose belongs to "it".

No it's not, it'd uncontract as "plug up it is nose".
  • edited August 2009
But the apostrophe notes possesion in this case not a contraction.

Well, English is my third language and even I know it's "its" when you want to indicate possession. (Yes, it's an exception to the rule etcetera and it's a common mistake, but still...)

"It's" = short for "it is," or "it has."

In (almost) all other contexts, use "its" without the apostrophe and you'll be in the clear.

Should I be annoyed that I was corrected by telltale staff even though they made this exact mistake in the game? :p

It seems to me that they are assuming and correcting their mistake in a subtle way, so we don't notice they made the mistake. :-)

Pff that was Mark, not me!

Since "it" is a pronoun and not a real noun, you can't add "-'s" to the end to make it possessive like you do with other words. I don't say "he's nose," I say "his nose," and the same applies with "it."

"Its" is a possessive pronoun, like "his" or "your" or "my."

Hopefully that helps you to wrap your minds around the word.

Of course not... it'd have to be "him's nose".
