Changing the interface and subtitle language in Telltale Games

edited July 2017 in General Chat

I couldn't find an article on how to change the language in Telltale Games, so I will try to create one with this.

In-game settings
So in-game settings are normally your first bet, but most Telltale Games I have played don't have language options there.

Steam settings
If you bought your game on Steam, then you can use the properties to select the language.

Right click on the game in your library, select properties and there should be a language tab on most games.

System language
This is a bit of an effort but changing your system language and date format should always work if you were unsuccessful with the other options.
Changing the system language, is also the only way on Android and iOS and also consoles as far as I know.

On Windows without changing your system language using tools
This is a workaround I found thanks to GOG Forum user "TariC" that works great for me. (thread)
You will need two tools:
Locale Emulator by xupefei: https://github.com/xupefei/Locale-Emulator/releases
Locale Emulator Shortcut Maker by ringocpa: https://leshortcut.codeplex.com/releases/view/559467

  • Run Locale Emulator Installer using LEInstaller.exe and click on install.
  • Edit the global profile list using LEGUI.exe and create a profile with the language you would like.
  • Lastly, run LEShortcut.exe and create a nice shortcut to open.

I hope this was helpful to you.
