If it was at all intentional, they could have made it a lot more clear... maybe in the DVD they'll reassess that joke and make it a fountain or something.

For the record, I see sweetcorn.

    :S I don't see anything.....

    That's a little gratuitous, don't you think?

I didn't notice this pillar for a second.
And you guys are sick and disturbing.
  • edited August 2009
that might be true...but isn't sick and distrurbing part of the definition for a guy? :D

anyhow, the thing you're talking about could be considered a phallic symbol, but only from a certain vantage point. the shape isn't that obvious to be intentional...so in the end, you see what you want to see. i for my part are not taking to much interest in huge stone phalli.

i really like some of the adult humour in the games though. so far it's subtle enough to be funny and still keep the games somewhat kids friendly. if telltale isn't careful, that winslow guy might get a bit out of hand however.

Sheesh - can you tell there's a high proportion of men working as Devs? Voodoo lady's boobs, nice cans, going for 24 hours, make it worth your while, inserting things into clamshells...

Freud would have a field day I'm sure...now go wash your minds out with bleach everyone

I know it's not just me...

Do you have screenshot from this thing? I finished Episode 2 storyline and didn't notice such symbol.

Edit: Image above of this post shows something else, if you think it is penis, then it is somewhat weird looking one.

For me it is more like sword's blade with handle. :)

If you squint and tilt your head, I suppose...

But again, gents, if yours is turning purple like that, please go to your doctor, I'm pretty sure there's a way to get that fixed.

Yeah, the episode was originally called "The Siege of Pen Island" but we changed it for obvious reasons.

Geez, is this thread soon coming to an end?

There was one point in the game where I "accidentally" had to laugh out loud. It's when Guybrush walks around too long with the melted pyrite. On the way to the merfolk display I understood he said "Oh no..my pirate has hardened again."
    ...Well..it was late and all...:D

And you were obviously drunk. He said Pyrite not Pirate. Sounds almost the same I guess.

You don't have to be drunk to have a dirty mind, do you? :p

Looks more like a potato to me... and if there's a resemblance between a potato and your reproductive tools, it's time to either buy your potatoes somewhere else, or see a doctor. (Of course, I should point out that potatoes are classed as "angiosperms". Take from that what you will.)

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Incidentally, this reminds me of a pun:
"When I was studying psychiatry, I took a vacation with my classmates to Aspen. We decided to go skiing. Never in my life had I seen so many Freudians slip."
  • edited August 2009
If that's what you call "phallic," then either you need to get out more or it's *cough* based on personal scale. No women in her right mind would see a "phallic" shape in that with out bustin out laughing and then commenting on "how cute it is" and then asking "can your big brother can come out and play."
  • edited August 2009
Oh pfft. That's nothing. Have you ever played Runaway: Dream of the Turtle?

I'm looking forward to seeing if this phallic statue will make a cameo in the final episode (Rise of the Pirate's Rod, I think it's called?).

It's not a giant phallic symbol, it's called the main mast.

I, ehm, see, didn't say it looks like, um, mine tools. Just, see, tools in general... And what's wrong with this juicy vegetable?
    Pepper
    Or those tasty carrots?
    Carrot
Hey, and there was another phallic symbol in LucasArts itself! Good thing they got rid of it.
the last one is Jim Ward, who stopped Monkey Island for nime years

I think Telltale are seriously considering acquiring the Leisure Suit Larry licence at this point... they already have the target audience right here!

Well, I'd be first to buy it ; ) Just hope they'd continue from where LSL 7 ended (
    Larry is taken by UFO
    )

I would love to see Telltale picking up Larry. At least, that way we'll know it'll be a proper adventure game, unlike the trashy Larry Lovage games. There's no doubt in my mind that Al Lowe would love to be involved too. I'm sure he'd grab the opportunity to redeem the series to its former glory.

It's odd how many rude jokes they threw in there, and you're still trying to force it to be rude with the worlds most deformed phallus haha

That strange distorted thing is supposed to be a phalic symbol??

The Little Mermaid poster detail will then probably put you into frenzy:

Doesn't leave much to imagination now, init? And this is Disney, for Pete's sake...

I've an ex-girlfriend that used to go on about skyscapers, rockets, etc being phallic. Christ she's boring, I hate her!
Just fired up the game, can see said symbol of manhood.
You either need to get laid or come out of the closet!
    Maybe both ;)
