Upcoming Homage to The Killing Joke? (Potential Spoilers)
I've been thinking. Could the end of episode 4 and/or much of episode 5 take inspiration from The Killing Joke? It doesn't have to be exact though. Besides, there's implication that John Doe is one of Riddler's comrades, unless he's referring to Harley as a white faced freak. Here's what I think these might include. And keep in mind, these are just predictions/theories.
- Amanda Waller could be the subject of kidnapping and psychological torture. John's reasons? Riddler's group having a beef against the agency. And to prove that anyone can go mad with just one rotten day.
- A fight with Harley before freeing Waller. Unless Harley is defeated (either dead or subdued) by Episode 5.
- John Doe would record Waller going mad on live feed. Keeping the camera on her at all times until both of them "share the same sense of humor".
- To be on par with The Killing Joke references, the final battle of The Enemy Within should be set in an abandoned carnival. Which Batman has to traverse through while searching for Waller. Getting passed any traps and mooks (possibly besides Harley) that may get in the way.
- After freeing Waller, Batman would follow John into a hall of mirrors.
That's all I could think of.

I hope not. The Killing Joke has already been done. Plus, I'd rather John not really become a main antagonist for a while. I think it'd be more interesting to build up his relationship with Bruce as much as possible so it's that much more intriguing when he finally goes too far. I'd prefer if John just stays in this too-smart-for-his-own-good manipulator role for a while.
