Future antagonists ?

Hi !

So, I played the first episode of Batman season 2 last night and it was AWESOME. I'm particulary interested by John doe's friends and, maybe it's supposed to be super obvious and I'm not bringing anything new on the table, but... Are his friends supposed to be the Court of Owls ?

At first, I thought about it because John Doe talks about mysterious friends who REALLY would like to have Bruce with them, as an equal (which implies that they might be rich and could use his influence and his status in Gotham).

Regina makes a reference to it in the first episode of the first game, talking about the old noble families of Gotham and their need to get united (I don't trust her at all, I'm sure she's going to stab us in the back once again).

I'm pretty sure the Riddler is talking about them when he's mentioning "friends" that were supposed to help him. He was becoming too obvious and it's not what the Court of Owls needs right now.

This one is a tiny mistake on my part, but the Riddler receives a mail coming from a certain H. I'm french, so I thought it might mean "Hibou", which is the french word for "Owl", but it doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe it's a member ? Or maybe I'm wrong, it's not related and it was Harley Quinn ?

I don't know much about the Court of Owls, but they seem really cool and I think they would make an interesting enemy for Batman. What do you think about it ?

  • Waller pointed a woman Harleen Quinzel which is a reference to Harley Quinn.

Bane can be seen in Episode 2 picture in episode menu along with Hugo Strange.

Riddler's friends were Joker and his gang mixed up with Riddler's gang. Bane, Harley Quinn, Hugo Strange could be the notable members of this gang.

  • Yeah, you're right. It seems more like a setting for a "Suicide Squad" like kind of thing than a Court of Owls. But the latter seems more fitting to me when it's about the Joker who thinks his "friends" are really, really impatient to meet Bruce Wayne.
