My theory on Blue and Orange colors (Spoilers on EP1)

I am not entirely sure if they will keep doing this in future episodes, but I definitely hope they continue to do that. Still, I am slightly possible what those two colors are suppose to symbolize. From an initial impression, it seems that Blue is positive and Orange is negative.

However in some cases such as Avesta, when her status is blue, it says Guilt-ridden. When it is orange, it says Traumatized. Both are clearly something negative. Joker, on the other hand seems like he is positively influenced by the orange color and your choices to get them, was simply to be friendly and siding with him.

From there, I can speculate that Blue and Orange is meant to symbolize Order and Chaos. When a character is left with a blue color relationship, it means that their relation to Bruce/Batman and the characters themselves are stable and orderly whereas characters left in Orange color, means that their personality and relationship with Bruce is more chaotic. Your decision to lie or tell the truth to Tiffany, either leaves her calm and friendly toward you, thus Blue, when you tell her the truth, she is furious and thus Orange. Even though lying can be seen as a negative choice.

So yeah, Blue is Order and Orange is chaos. What do you think? Do you agree?

  • That’s a cool theory I never really acknowledged the colors. My Joker was ecstatic and I belive the color was orange. It’s strange because blue seems positive and I want my Joker to be friends with me but it had orange because I’m making promises to a (most likely) future villain. Very interesting feature here I feel like choices are going to matter this season.

  • Yeah, that's what I thought when I saw everyone else's relationships.
I did okay, but I still have some relationships to repair, apparently.

  • I was wondering this as well thinking blue is good and orange is bad but it it didn't make sense to me considering with Agent Avesta she was guilt-ridden but it was in blue.
