Is The Enemy Within the best TellTale game (premiere) in a while?
In my honest, humble opinion, after playing the first episode of this season of Batman, I can say it's the best TellTale game I've played since Tales From The Borderlands. It was longer than more recent releases, the action and fighting was so immersive and good, the choices were tough, the graphics look improved, all in all I loved it. It was everything I hoped for in a Batman TellTale game, good fights, great dialogue, strong characters, and colorful villains.
Thoughts on previous titles: (Plz don't hate just opinions)
- I never played GOT or Minecraft 1 or 2, as they weren't my cup of tea
- Michonne was pretty good
- First Batman season was solid, but lacking in terms of what I was hoping for
- A New Frontier was so-so at best
- Guardians also pretty solid
I'd like to know other people's thoughts on it and how it stacks up to previous titles.
EDIT: a lot of people have pointed out that it is only the first episode, and shouldn't be judged as a whole yet, which is a fair point. So I'm making it premiere now.

Let's not jinx things now. It's a great premiere for the season for sure and if I were to rank it against other recent premieres it would be pretty high on the list.
I really liked Episode 1 too--I just hope Episode 2 is too rushed, since it is coming on September 26th.
Nah. It was good, but I didn't think it was any better or worse than the first Batman game which I thought was B+ at best.
I wouldn't want to say until the season is complete but it's off to a good start. Telltale seems to be getting much better lately after the issues which surrounded ANF, and both Guardians and Batman are especially good games so far. A lot of it is down to the new mechanics Enemy Within is using like relationship monitoring, improved combat sequences and tough choices.
It's too soon to say that with only one episode out, but I could see that being the case if the rest of the season is as good as the first episode.
It's starting out amazingly in my opinion but until Episode 2 comes out, I think the title deserves to go to Guardians of the Galaxy, which so far has been providing everything fans have been requesting in a Telltale game for the last 5 years.
To me, it definitely felt like the best premiere of any Telltale premiere so far. It's like one shocking event, to another twist, to another jaw-dropping moment, not to mention all the setup that didn't feel shoehorned in there either. It just felt like the ideal premiere. I can't call it the best game yet, especially with it's tough competition with TWD, TWAU and TFTB as some of the most compelling and entertaining game stories I've been a part of, but if it can keep up at this pace, it might blow past that competition.
Id probably say this, Batman S1 was the last Telltale game Telltale made that I truly can say I really enjoyed, but then ANF and GOTG and Minecraft S2 came out and personally I found all 3 of them not being that great, ANF just being a complete mess of garbage, GOTG feeling uninspired and boring, and Minecraft just not being for my taste, but Batman S2 feels like a true proper sequel that just builds on the last game, so Im very happy with Batman S2 so far.
I think it's much better than GOTG (I really hate the look of it, and the story is very uneven) and TWD;ANF. Minecraft is visually unappealing so I never tried playing that game. It is a little frustrating that we might not be able to explore what made the Riddler tick, or what his relationship with Bruce's parents was... but, yeah, this game is solid. I love being able to play as Bruce Wayne.
I loved the first episode of The Enemy Within. If the rest of the episodes are as good or better than the first this season is going to be one of the best telltale games for sure.
We don't know it yet, but I have the feeling it'll be the best sequel in a while (I mean, not that we had many sequels but, you know...).
It's too soon to say its the best TT game in a while but the premier was the best episode i've played in a long time, really amazing.
