I’m tired of dark and grimy frontiers: Give me a colorful upper class city to explore for once!
Am I the only one that feels the open world concept the gaming industry has these days need to change? I hope not.
I’m getting tired of it now, look at the Witcher 3, AC3, and literally random pick of a open world game released these days.
I want some innovation, a upper-class-city-confined type of world, like GTA VC. That is a great example. With today’s technology, such games will look revolutionary. I want something that’s light hearted most of the time, with some well implemented dark moments.
I really want something light hearted and colorful for once, really. Maybe a romance story in a fictional open world city? Wouldn’t it be amazing?
I’m really hyped for Cyberpunk 2077 as it looks like it’s going to be something different for once.

Bioshock Infinite and Columbia, a city in the clouds. It's obviously rotten inside like every community, but on the outside it's colourful and beautiful, full of music, expositions and cotton candy.
Firewatch is pretty and full of breathtaking landscapes.
Uncharted Series, especially 2 and 4. You have action, comedy, great humour and entertaining stories.
Brothers: The Tale of Two Sons also has amazing landscapes and plays with perspective a lot, though it's rather sad at the end.
Just to add, if you like walking simulators with just the atmosphere to immerse into, I highly recommend Journey.
But Uncharted isn't open-world?
The Thiefs End is more or less open-worlded, but except that, no. But it's still colourful and humorous, like you asked.
