Could Gary Oldman pull off a comedy role

Does this forum have any Gary Oldman fans ?, if so do you think he could pull off a role in a comedy. Voice your opinion on this discussion.

    He technically has in the past. He was in The Hitman's Bodyguard earlier this year and he had a guest appearance on Friends.

    In all seriousness, Oldman is the best actor to not be recognised by The Academy.
    The one role he was nominated for isn't even one that anybody would have in their top 10. They just threw him a bone after X years.

    There are actors in that same group which I like more, but he is the most talented.
