    Considering this novel/movie glorify rape culture and conjugal violence, just no. I know it does look like BDSM but honestly, BDSM and stuff like these are about consent, and I see none in this novel/movie. This movie is saying "abusive relationship are cool", no, it's not.

    that's what i thought too. but when i watched the sequel, the man seemed to have fallen in love and started opening up to Anastasia. it seems like he had a messed up childhood. and in the sequel he married Anna and started to free himself from his Dominant (Kim Basinger). I haven't read the manga so i wouldn't know what the sequel would turn out but i think it was titled 50 shades freed.

    I've read the whole manga (and I sincerely can't tell why)... Gotta say, I'm not surprised that 50 shades of grey was based on Twilight fanfiction. The story is so bland and mostly based on poor Cinderella stereotype with a drop of BDSM to spice things up. Oh, she's such a shy and innocent virgin-bluestocking who literally gets no attention from men and there's a super rich and handsome man with twisted hobbies and MYSTEEEEERIOUS past hooks her up. Legit story.
