I'm blown away by these games-
I have some comments and questions but first I would like to post what I said on my Steam review after playing through 'Batman'- Please keep in mind I'm kind of a newcomer to Telltale games (ive played Law and Order and the Poker games before though)
This will be a long post but I have quite a bit to say because I am so impressed by what Ive seen so far.
Steam Review
_**For starters I would say I consider this less of a 'game' than I do an 'interactive movie' and tbh the 'gamey' parts (quicktime events) and the action are the least enjoyable part of the experience... The 'adventure' parts (putting clues together) are decent but the real 'meat' of this experience is in the choices you have to make , the moral dilemmas you face and the jaw dropping story that twists and turns and plays with your head.
I'm an old school 'Detective Comics' fan from way back before even the first Batman movie really popularized the character- Over time ive stopped caring or even being interested in Batman and after playing the first episode of this series (I got the first episode for free) I was thrust back into his dark world and filled with nostalgia and a remberance of what I have loved about this chatcter in the past... I purchased the series (and the second one as well) before I had even finished that first free episode and now that ive completed this- I just have to say WOW- This was one hell of a ride... Bravo.
This blew me away on so many levels. Once the world had absorbed me and I set aside the suspention of disbelief, making some of these choices was actually a bit stressful because it felt 'real' and as if I was there and real consequence rested upon the way I reacted...Whether this was real or illusion I wont know until I replay this but regardless - It was entertaining and sucked me in on a level that games and movies rarely if ever have accomplished.
They handled this with such care and attention to detail that playing the part of 'Bruce Wayne' was the most interesting part of the game- This was living out a story arc in 'Detective comics' in a way I had never imagined possible since I fell in love with the batman in my youth.
If this is level of care I can expect from Telltale- You've gained a customer for more than just the batman series (I also decided to pick and up and try game of Thrones)
-On the negative side of things, there was waaay too much studdering at times , especially in the second episode but it seemed to get better (although it still reared its ugly head at times) but tbh it was a small price to pay for the experience.
Overall one hell of a ride - I'll be replaying this again with my wife and testing out that phone link thing so she can make the choices- What a great way to spend time as a family.
-Blown away. Thanks for this. You brought the magic back into the world of Gotham that I havnt felt since I was a child, flipping the pages of the comic book and experiencing in awe of the adventures of the worlds greatest detective. Thank you .**_
I feel that review sums up much of my thoughts so I figured i would repost it here rather than trying to rewrite or change the words but say the same thing.
Anyhow, After posting this review my wife and I tried the phone link thing where she could make the choices- My wife is not a gamer at all, has zero interest in Batman and is not at all the target demographic of someone who would usually enjoy something like this- And both of us had an absolute blast- She loved it and became engrossed in the story almost as much as myself. We had so much fun that we decided to also purchase 'The Walking Dead complete collection' and 'Wolf among us'.
After playing the first episode of 'Wolf among us' we were in awe at how gritty and mature the story was (and downright hilarious and creative) and I must say i think it might be better than Batman...These games are something really special.
By giving out that free episode of batman and being featured on my Steam store feed you ended up selling me alot of games. More than I normally would spend on my monthly gaming budget- And I was introduced to a type of game/genre (I still have trouble thinking of these as games tbh- Although they have some aspects of adventure games they feel more like interactive media that defies any established genre) that I'm still in awe over. These are some of the coolest things ive ever played.
-Is there a chance you will revisit the older games (like wolf among us) and add the phone link? Even as paid DLC I would love to have this in all these games. Also is there a possibility of ever having the choices appear in text by their color as that would make it a bit easier.
Overall this post is just about me thanking you- So far what ive seen here is nothing short of amazing. I really hope you continue to add other great IPs and more mature things like 'wold among us' (Sherlock Holmes would be phenomenal).
edit- Also would love to hear any recommendations of other games like this from any company if any one has any, along with anyones feelings of what the best 'telltale ' series would be and why-

Welcome to the forum! That's really cool to hear about your experience with the games so far! If you haven't already, play the second season of Batman! It's far surpassed most peoples expectations and has improved a lot from season one. Also make sure to try out Tales from the Borderlands, even if you don't care for the Borderlands series it's regarded by many to be their best game so far.
Welcome to the community, friend. Glad you've discovered and are enjoying what Telltale has to offer.
Currently, Telltale is just finishing up Season 2 of Batman, (Episode 5 yet to be released), but it is widely considered to be bigger and better than Season 1, even from the first episode. So, I highly encourage you to check that out when you have the time.
In terms of other Telltale experiences to recommend, uh, I'd go with Tales From the Borderlands. Based on the shooter Borderlands (but this time without all the shooting), it's more of a comedy adventure, and a really good one at that. It's something special that Telltale has made and is tonally different than all the other dramas they've created. No knowledge of the Borderlands series is needed, but having it just enriches the experience.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it I also recommend playing TEW. To me its the best Telltale game since Tales From The Borderlands. Way better than the first, I'm sure you're gonna love it.
I just recommended it to another user here recently; Late Shift is game that I think every telltale fan should take a look at. It's pretty much like a live action Telltale game. I really enjoyed it personally.
Another good one you should check out is Oxenfree. That one was made by former Telltale staff and it's very dialogue choice centric like TT games.
Hello there, welcome to the forums! Glad you're enjoying Telltale games.
As others suggested above me, I'd recommend getting Batman: The Enemy Within. Most people would agree that it's even better than the first season, so since you really enjoyed the first season, you're going to love the second one as well. So far 4 episodes out of 5 have been released. A little warning - it might be a shock to wait ~2 months for a new episode after playing several episodes in a row and during longer waits I've seen way too many people mentioning that they already forgot what happened in the last episode, so maybe consider waiting till the whole season finishes before playing it.
As for the other Telltale games, The Walking Dead S1, The Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands are generally considered as the best ones, so only Tales is missing from your list.
Well, you've won over what's left of the old-phase fans. Ha.
For recommendations, yeah, Wolf and Tales From The Borderlands are the best.
Thanks guys.
Just finished 'Wolf Among Us' and it was a freaking masterpiece... I cannot believe Ive never played these games before- I really missed out.
Wolf Among Us was way better than Batman and I wasnt even familiar with the IP. Batman was great but this was on a completely different level for me.
These games are such a blast to play together with others (in the sense of working with someone to make the choices and watching it together) and I'm going to be a little bummed once ive played through them all.
I'm pretty much only missing Borderlands, Guardians of galaxy and Minecraft from my collection and I'll have everything and be forced to wait around until more are released. I appreciate all the comments and suggestions-..I just still cannot get over how fun these 'games' (lol still have trouble thinking of these as games) are to go through.
I can't wait until you play Borderlands. Many people call it the best game of Telltale. Wanna hear your thought on it!
