If the size is the issue, why not compress more?

I just don't understand, if the size of the download means so much for TTG, why don't you just compress it with a simple WinRar or WinZip?

I tried WinRar and instead of 260 mb of the ToMI Ep2 i got 170 mb RAR archive.
