Do we all have too much spare time?

edited September 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
The headline of this topic is actually a swedish expression translated to english, and I don't really know how well it works in this language..

.. however. Do we all have too much spare time when we're actually discussing fictional game characters like they're actually alive for real? :D

Anyway. I like the new game, and I'm really looking forward for chapter 3.

Good and short answer there, Astro. I like it!

And while we're on it.. I mean .. discussing fictional things.. (plus that I don't want to start another thread (I might be kicked out of this forum.. scary..)).. I really hope that Telltale dares to challenge Disney somewhere in the game and leaving some reference that Pirate of the carribeans are a rip off from Monkey Island... Would feel sooo good :)

There's plenty of people playing "Live" and roll based games. Also paintball is a popular way to pretend you're in a war..

.. why are there no people doing real life insult sword fighting? Would be fun trying out.. also insult armwrestling would be hilarious..

it's the same with the movies or any other TV shows. I mean you aren't discussing about actor with their characters which also aren't real.

I'm only on here every once in a while because I'm home for the summer. I work about 40 to 45 hours at my job, but once college starts again, I won't be on here for a long time. I still go out with my friends, have a good time, work a lot, but the combined amount of time I spend on this forum would be about 20 minutes a day. It doesn't take that much to leave posts, so I don't think we have too much time on our hands. It's just a nice distraction. There are some people though that take these forums too seriously and start heated arguments that have little or nothing to do with games. Defiantly there are some people that need to lighten up. Good thread my friend.

Look ppl. I was just joking! I didn't mean to offend anyone in any way. I think it's nice to discuss the characters of MI too, cause it actually is.. or well, at least was, a great deal of my life...

no we dont - i spend 60 hours a week, either at work or travelling to and from work and like 56 hours sleeping. and several hours on top cooking and doing various other chores, that leaves me with less than 50 free hours and i dont work as hard as some people!

I don't think anyone was offended. We're all just answering your question.

Yeah, it can be tricky to know if someone is angry or not on forums because you only have words to go off of without a tone of voice.

Well, I'm horribly underemployed; I've got to do something to fill my time that doesn't involve soul-crushing amounts of job applications. What's your excuse? :p

It's impossible to have TOO much free time!

Not enough spare time, in my opinion.

This IS a better way to spend my time than WoW. Plus if you love the MI series, you need to talk about it somewhere.

I've got a short weekend and about 2,5 hours of spare time a day. So, the answer is: No.

Discussing fictional characters took up a significant amount of time at university, also. So I'm used to it. ;)

I tried insult arm wrestling out with a friend once, but he didn't know about monkey island so he didn't quite get it. I have tried insult thumb wrestling tho.

I can no longer watch paint dry due to its intoxicating fumes, therefore I go on these forums.

I've tried Insult sword fighting with my sister when I was a kid. I forgot how it turned out but it couldn't have been too original, cause who knew what insults were right and wrong. Also no one else in the neighbor hood knew anything about it.

Nah, talking about video games isn't any different than talking about movies or music or sports.

Well there is different kind of people, to many people in the modern world, are money greedy and are work'o'holics, personally i want more in my life than work, i dont care much to earn more money,

Nothing for me, is more important that spare time, which i use on my hobby (pc gaming)

I work to live, i dont live for work.
