MURRAY!should return?

It has already been said Murray would appear in a future chapter of Tales...

As far as I'm concerned, I'm getting a bit sick of all these threads about Murray and Stan... While I like them, I think they are overrated. I'd rather see a comeback from other characters. There are plenty of great characters in Monkey Island who deserve to reappear in a future game:
    Captain Smirk.
    Largo LaGrande.
    Kate Capsize.
    The Voodoo Priest.
    Wally.
    Captain Rottingham.
    King André....

    Just to name a few...
But fans only want STAN!!! and MURRAY!!! so I guess we'll only have the two of them over and over again...

I don't want to bore you with a long conversation, yet. LOL

Don't you think Wally is a growing up a little too much and getting a little too old to be Wally anymore? By now, Monkey Island 6,7...Wally is really getting on in years and he's mentally and physically changed as a person, most likely. He should be considerably older and more distant from his original visual presence in MI-2. I don't know how well his character would balance out either.

The rest I'll leave aside for later because there all different and to make an extensive post about this right now wouldn't be wise.

I always thought of him as a child-like adult so I see no real reason why he couldn't be exactly the same.

I'd love to see largo back on the scene, think they could do some really funny stuff with him around again, some "men of low moral fibre" wouldn't go a miss too.

This sums up about exactly my thoughts on this subject.
I'm in no way "AGAINST" anyone's return, especially murray's, but i still voted no cause i'm also getting sick of reading so many people begging for it.
No single character (except the few MAIN ones - Guybrush, Elaine, Lechuck) SHOULD return, especially if it's just to have them in there somewhere without any reason for it.
Minor characters, as great as they can be, are still minor... Overusing them rarely does any good...
I don't know about anyone else, but i hated R2D2 and C3PO in the new star wars movies. They were absolutely not needed and their presence didn't even make sense. I hated the whole "bobba fett's origins" even more. Those exemples are exactly the kind of crap that can happen when you start assuming than an old character SHOULD return...

Don't think Murray is that important so that he should return to the game. Is rather an annoying character. I prefer if TellTale leave him out of the game...
  • edited September 2009
What about characters Telltale have gave us, our beloved first mate, Morgan LeFlay, the Marquee, all quality characters. Murray'd be nice and all but my main interest is in all these characters

Denny Delk, his voice actor, has revealed that he's indeed in the game. Fear not though... Try showing the Morgan LeFlay flyer to the voodoo lady in chapter 1. It seems to me like Murray's playing a purty big role.

And I agree that some of these new characters are really interesting, namely Winslow, Morgan and de Singe. Didn't get that fond of any character from Escape.

Murray, the spin off. LOL, best idea ever.

I want to see the Men of Low Moral Fiber back, for Guybrush's sakes! I mean come on, they were an original Monkey Island constant!
  • edited September 2009
I actually really do think that Stan needs to be back in some form, since it's become something of a Monkey Island tradition to have him around. Apart from "the big three" (Guybrush, Elaine, LeChuck) Stan has been one of the minor character's who has been in every game (alongside the Voodoo Lady and Herman Toothrot) so I think that he should absolutely return.

I would like to see the Men of Low Moral Fiber, but they'd really need to be used well!

Murray's spirit lives on. He would be so Proud of his minions!
LONG LIVE Monkey Island's Murray, the skull behind the legend of DEMONIC SKULLS! MUAHAHAAHAH! GIVE US SKULL BABY!

Murray was confirmed to be in TMI a long time ago. I boggles the mind why everybody still talks like he may or may not be in it. I'm expecting him in the next episode if not the next next one.

I agree MusicallyInspired. Why anyone is in doubt of Murray's return really does boggle the mind!

Dominic Armato confirmed this again in my recent mini-interview with him here:
    http://alternativemagazineonline.co.uk/2009/09/02/mini-interview-tomi-the-siege-of-spinner-cay-what-does-dominic-armato-think/

I think Murray should be in the next one for sure, they have been building up to it for quite a while!

it has already been said that Murray will definately return.. though which chapter it will be remains a mystery. I am guessing that he will return for chapter 4 (the trial and execution of Guybrush Threepwood) but that is purely a guess.

I have a feeling he's ended up in a peculiar situation, like, for instance, getting swallowed by a giant manatee.

At the same time, I think Stan's gonna open a store on Flotsam now that the island has a reputation of letting customers AWAY from it. (Though that's just a mild guess... my guts tell me only one thing; he might use the tall and skinny base model : S )

    Just my two cents.

I think everyone wants Murray back.

There are a lot of other good characters, but Murray is timeless, and awesome. I wouldn't mind seeing the Flying Welshman again though.

    105 versus 19, that's impressive.

Murray can go to Hell as far as I'm considered. Get it? 'Cause he's a demonic, talking skull? Ha! I'm hilarious.

    * * *

Anyway, I want a de Singe spin off game. They could call it "Amputation: The Gorey Game for Deranged Doctors!" Now there's a game that should be buried in the New Mexico desert under ten tons of concrete.

118 versus 20 if I counted right as of right now.

I'm really sorry if I'm committing treason here or something but...

    WHO'S MURRAY?

I haven't played the first Monkey Island games, I'm thinking about buying the SoMI:SE but haven't gotten around to it. So if this could be cleared up it would really be appreciated.

Spin-off game? What would that be? Murray-bowling?

Murray is a talking skull that appears in Monkey Island 3 and 4. He had a more prominent role in the third game though! Go play it! NOW!! :)

You really need to get the whole pack of games for like 25 dollars or so for your Birth day!? WHO'S MURRAY!? That's like asking who Superman is or Batman!:mad::mad::eek:

LOL, I kid but seriously you should seek out a education in Monkey Island and further your knowledge. Dude man you're missing out.:p

  • edited September 2009
Yeah, but it's hard to get Monkey Island games in Australia wijout using torrents, but I DONT USE TORENTS FOR THINGS I RESPECT. So I'm kind of in a rut. Are there any legal downloads, or do I need to go on eBay?

216 versus 42 by the time of the release of episode 3 is it were consitent. The numbers aren't accurate because you can't account that the survey will emcompass a like audience but it's fun anyways.

    ... wait what?

The numbers keep changing and already changed again, even if my math was off. So it really doesn't make a difference now.

I just did a numbers/time (multiply to release date) This is not a mathamatical expression.
