rise of the pirate god

has anyone considered that it might be guybrush? executed and resurrected via his poxy hand and lechuck's accidentally misfired monkey ritual at the end of the previous chapter (trial and execution of guybrush threepwood), into the new undead pirate leader, even more big and evil than lechuck was?

leading into not controlling him at all in the last chapter, instead having to control elaine and morgan and maybe even lechuck to save/redeem guybrush with all of the love triangle/quadrangle antics that would ensue..

If that does happen.....the last episode will be the biggest let down of my entire life! controlling anyone other than Guybrush would be a huge mistake on TT part.

Personally I think that "the rise of the pirate god" is a referentual to LeChuck's awakening and the resurrection of his evil. I mean, obv he has to be villain in the final episode, can't have him like this running around saving animals and picking flowers all the time can we?

Buuut I'll give you it's a coinflip. Your theory makes a lot of sense asw. However, I disgree with the last part, controlling another character? TTG def don't wanna do that.

Nah, I'm betting it's going to be something like the Marquis finds a way to control the pox and becomes the pirate god. Then the only way to defeat him is to channel it back to LeChuck, thus restoring everything back to the way things were and neatly wrapping things up without disturbing the Monkey Island plot which seems to upset so many people if major things happen...

So far in the game we have the Vacalians worshipping wind gods and sea gods.. wondering if it has anything to do with them.

Maybe it's a similar ending to "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis", where there isn't only one ending ;)

I was just thinking about that game. Man, just the size. I mean, what weird fkin sadist releases such a game? It's so gdmn huge and hard it's silly. I'm not even sure I regret using a walkthrough throughout the whole game because I would have been so mad still otherwise.

I can see Telltale doing that, throwing in a villain who fits the game without being obvious enough to make threads about...because at this point I think the only character people haven't suspected is Otis. :p

Well, I wouldn't expect that the Vacalians have a secret Pirate god they're not telling you about. But maybe they get involved somehow.

Depends if you mean "pirate god" as in a pirate who is also a god.
It could be a god worshipped by pirates.

Same ambiguity with the phrase "lesbian vampire killers".
It could be lesbians who kill vampires.
Or lesbian vampires who are killers.
Or killers who only target lesbian vampires.

saw that movie, not too bad...although it is very obvious that the two guys are in fact lesbians who get killed repeatedly by vampire pirates :)

I'm guessing it's guybrush. But it could be the voodoo lady.

Why? I think it'd be great to control someone else for a bit, like Elaine or LeChuck. An episode devoted to someone else is a great idea.
  • edited September 2009
Come'on Elaine is definitely the obvious bad guy. Look at the rest of the games they have ALL been for Her and Treasure! whoever gets the girl and loot was the winner. Now that is all going to be reversed, the Pirate enemies will have to team up and fight the Baddest SWMBO ever.

I mean someone needs to draw Elane in a Femme LeChuck outfit, she'd be Killer.

Elaine is starting to turn into an evil avaricious marauding minx...
I wouldn't be at all surprised if she turned out to be the 'Female Pirate Deity'.

    BWWWARRRKKKK it's me, Guybrush Threepwood!

Come on - it HAS to be the parrot
  • edited October 2009
The Pirate God is obviously Largo LeGrande. He wouldn't need voodoo deity powers to take you down, just spit.

It would be better if it was like the Last Crusade (bad) ending where Indy explodes. :p

Do you always apply sarcasm to things you don't understand or was this an exception?
