I'm sliiightly disappointed. Because of the name, I expected the music from the Dream sequence in MI2
    (with the dancing skeletons)
    .

The great music made up for it though.

PS: Talking about that scene from MI2, you look to me like a guy who can play that song and sing the lyrics with it and dance and make a video out of it. I think that hasn't been done yet.

Very Impressed Silverwolf. Very smooth and no errors at all. As a fellow musician, I am a little jealous of this mix! Very good. The ending was very authentic.

I'm going to upload a couple mixes I've done as well tomarrow.

I would love to hear your mixes, as a fellow musician too! Thank you for your kind words, and your honesty regarding the jealous feeling you have.
Trust me, there is no need to feel that way. Maybe we can compose something in collaboration for our fellow Monkey Island fans. :)

Hmmm... the MI2 Dream-Sequence is not a bad ideea...

Oops! there, I fixed the link. It's on youtube now. :)

Sorry for the bad quality...youtube sucks at audio quality... Can anyone reccomend a good file-uploading-site? It seems I can never find a good one that would hold the files for more than just a few days.

This is great, and there is Woodtick! Thanks man!

Sounds GREAT! One thing that slightly bugs me: The main instrument (in the first half) sounds a bit harsh while playing high notes. I don't know how you recorded it, but if you have it in MIDI format, could you try replacing it with a softer one (while keeping the current one in the second half where it's supposed to be more aggressive).

Recordings were in wav (and exported in mp3). This is not a digital/midi thing. It's actually my fingers pressing the keys. :) Multiple keys in fact. I work in multitracks.
The instrument sounds like that because it's on youtube. I really must find a file hosting site for full quality.

I'll fool around with TinyVid and tell you the results. If I remember correctly at some point Chris added a way to convert the videos yourself and upload that version without the site recompressing it, so you can get as much quality as you can put into any OGG file.

Hmmm... we'll have to discuss this in private. Thank you.

Just started the testing upload (will take a while: it's 60MB for an 8 second clip) and look what it says on the upload page:
"You can upload the file in any video format and it will be converted to the Ogg format that TinyVid uses if possible. If you upload a file in Ogg format it will not be converted - you can use this to upload files of higher quality than the TinyVid transcoder uses."

P.S. You should still upload to YouTube because you don't get a lot of exposure on TinyVid, but it's a nice option for a high quality backup.

P.P.S. Here's the testing video. It won't play fluidly no matter what you do (HD resolution at 60fps is just too much for Firefox to handle), but at least we know that there's no limitation on quality for uploaded files.

Why? Do you want people to tar and feather me? :p
I've got a few surprises up my sleeve for you guys, one of them which involved incapacitating my throat for a few days. Well worth it, though.

Id like to hear a mix of the song "journey" from SMI. One of the more under-appreciated songs of MI.

Are ye up to the challenge SWP?
  • edited September 2009
That would be a snap, the first song in the mix is Journey! I'd like to hear Elaine & Guybrush or LeChuck Unmasked. ;)

btw, mirror for high quality version:

Ah, you're right. But it is only part of the song and a song this good deserves its own mix. Not to be mixed with 5 other songs.

Hmmm... I always liked LeChuck Unmasked. :) I'll look into it :D
