    markus although was treated fair by carl was still treated as a slave by others like carls son who beat markus up and those protesters and the general community

    Marcus was not just talking about himself but also Androids in general. They have achieved self awareness and developed a moral code...they had wishes...but they were a people who were bought...used...then could be tossed away for no other reason than a newer model might look nicer and be faster and stronger. They could be taken to a garbage dump and destroyed. So yes he felt like a slave...just like his people.
