Will a hard copy of episodes 1-5 be out before my birth day Oct 16th?

Will a hard copy of episodes 1-5 be out before my birth day Oct 16th? I'm only going to play these with a CD, that's all there is to it. I won't have it any other way. :) I want it to sit near all my other CDS.
Thanks in advance.

No, episode 3 isn't even out yet and the hard copy won't come out until after all 5 or out.

I'm surprised how fast episode 2 game out after one though.

They will definitely be out, in hard copy, before Oct 16th 2010. :D

I think you're onto something there. Rather clever actually. I could wait that long, if I still can't get a job buy then I'll ask for the package from someone who has one.

Considering the last episode won't even be out by then, I highly doubt the hard copy will be.

Really? I mean it took over a month. Even if they released them on a specific date each month it would still be November before the 5th episode would be out...much less the DVD.

    Nope. One a month.

Oh God now this thread is becoming "Insights and Confessions From and Into The Minds of the Most Disturbed Posters"...
My concept of time is not so great either.

I wouldnt count on a hard copy until 2010. based on it being 2months since Bogey Man and still no hard copy for W&G. I wouldnt pay for a download only game but since Telltale include a disc version in the price, I dont see the problem? play it now and save that shelf space for a few months:)

I just need someone to connect some dots here, you mean a "disc version" as in you can buy the files and then later on they send on a CD with the episodes on it pre-paid?

Ok pal, here's the deal. Telltale distributes their games via download. However, if you order the whole season now you can download each episode as they come out and then after the season is over Telltale will send you the collector's DVD for only the price of shipping. So basically buying it now is the exact same as buying it when the hard copy is available except for the fact that you have to wait a month for the rest of the episodes to come out.

yup if you buy it now and download the episodes monthly, you can use your serial number when the hard copy is released and get it sent to you for the price of shipping
its only worth waiting if you want to play em all at once, youre still getting the same DVD version if you buy it now

Oh...thank you very much. It looks like I'll be getting a hard copy for my birth day after all. :) It'll just take a while to get there, but for the mean while I'll be playing Monkey Island!

Thanks...I'm not always so drifty but definitely am tonight.

It took them a month and a half. (44 days to be exact. Not that I was counting every excruciating second or anything )

True! One per month and a half.

I wouldn't expect the hard copy before March.

Yeah, Frogacuda would know. He knows stuff. He just doesn't say it cos he could get fined and lose his job.

I imagine it will take awhile, as they add special features to the collectors edition as well, don't they? I've never got one before because I can't be arsed posting to Australia, would cost too much. But I will for TOMI.

Screw the DVD version... Will chapter 3 be out by Oct 16th? :p

If they do that then they won't be able to release one in every consecutive month, which is what they promised. There is a trend with Telltale releases: The second episode usually takes a month and a half to two months but all the episodes preceding it usually take closer to 30 days. (Wallace & Gromit, both seasons of Sam & Max, and now it looks like Tales of Monkey Island will follow the same path.)

There's going to be a hard copy? I thought it was only guaranteed if you preorder.

Sure. Before your birthday next year.

Of course there is. If you preordered you will get a special artwork designed by Steve Purcell. But you will get the Season DVD if you bought the PC-Version at Telltale.
But only if you want it. And you will have to make another order when the DVD is out (for the DVD) which you will get for the price of shipping.
  • edited September 2009
On the bright side, it looks like you can order all the DVDs you are elligible for at the same time (hopefully saving shipping).

Is it more expensive to buy a hard copy now, or pre-order your hard copy now than it would be to buy one later? I might get it for my B-day but my mother is shrewd when it comes to saving a dime. We aren't bad off though, not rich but ...anyways...

    Thank you again in advance.

You *can't* order the season now.

FIRST you buy the Season(right now, the price is $34.95).

THEN when the DVD shows up in the Telltale store, that is when you can order your disc. This is around the time they produce the first run of DVDs. The order will consist of the DVD($0.00 if you already bought the season) and shipping.
