Err..

That counter doesn't autorefresh. At least not on my end.

It's awesome that TT is finally putting up a countdown for the release of a TOMI episode, but it's gonna get spammed by people hitting refresh, especially close to the date.

Anyone else think the site will crash again?

That's not a counter for the release of the next episode.

It counts down to talk like a pirate day.

    Both.

Pirate day seems like a weird thing to count down to.

You mean it's weird to count down to international talk like a pirate day when you're making a pirate game?

Sure, it'd be cute if they released them concurrently, but I'm not going to fuss if they don't.

It's already been said that the game will not come out this weekend. They will be doing 'something', but not releasing the game. I thought that was pretty obvious from all the posts of senior members from the last month stating that telltale doesn't release things outside working hours...where they are (timezone) I might add.

...that being said, why doesn't the counter work in IE?

    Because IE doesn't work

From what I understand, the counter counts down to Pirate Day according to the time zone you are in ... so it's obviously not a timer for the release (apart from the fact that TTG have already said it isn't :D).

    I concur. I'm a web designer and cross-browser-compatibility is a nightmare.

I dunno, IE is ridiculous. It loaded up today, but the numbers weren't centered.

And it's easy to become a senior member. You just post heaps. It doesn't mean you have any insight into telltale's business model at all.

I hope the same tricks will be available to enjoy after that date because alarmingly I won't be around!

Only if you go crazy with CSS. People hate tables but at least you know what you're getting.

Yes, it's indeed weird to actually COUNT DOWN to pirate day. The "talk like a pirate day" is nothing TTG made, so that counter seems a little over the top. After all, the majority of people who visit this site will expect a counter for episode 3.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a surprise release of episode 3 on "Talk-like-a-pirate-day". It would be two weeks after initial episode testing, that should be OK, and the upcoming festival would be a nice enough opportunity.

    However, nothing's set in stone...

I wonder if the spectacular on the day will be a short MI film made using the TT tool.

At home where I have IE 8 it worked Ok and I could see the counter. Yesterday at worked I checked it out with IE 7 and it didn't look like it was working. But today it's working as well.

I guess they just had to tweak it.
