Edited- You can already see my response in the quote by Fury if you want to. I find it interesting that in all 3 perhaps 4 games there was a dog. Actually in a lot of Lucas Arts games there's a dog some place.
Well, no one should be lead to think their absolutely brilliant all the time, some times things are just meant to be fun.
There can't be deep themes and messages everywhere and their shouldn't be, you can always find something more intellectual if you look outside of something "dumb" or if you look inside that "dumb" thing's details and into its non-literal themes and ideas, it's functionality and how it relates to other ideas and people indirectly and directly...we could make this an extremely deep thread if we wanted to but that isn't the intent.
At any rate I don't think most people are in question if this thread was brilliant or not..it's about dogs...it's almost aimless to speak your mind that it's sort of a "dumbed thread". Though most people haven't put a label on their insights (perspective- opinion) here and leave their selves open to view things more open minded and all things perceived can be considered different from "dumb". It's only dumb if "we" make it dumb. That shows a lack of mental ability to appreciate detail though , no offense.
I wouldn't call it a serious thread but I don't think a thread has intelligence and I can tell you that the poster behind it has tested above average...;)
two dogs in MI1 don't forget the one in the SCUMM bar, and the Piranha Poodles. MI2 we had Walt the Guard Dog . But, now that you menton it I don't believe we had a dog in EMI. I don't think so, anyway that could help explain why it was my least favorite one.
I really wish some people on this forum would watch their tone. It's so typical for someone to berate another online, I bet you wouldn't be so quick to call someone stupid to their face.
If you don't like the question posed in this thread then don't respond to it, simple really.
By the way, I don't think there's ever been a cat in a Monkey Island game, right? Seems a bit biased to me, what about us cat lovers?!
I wouldn't call this thread stupid but, frankly, pretty unnecessary.
You've started quite a number of threads in this forum that seem a little superfluous to me and "are blocking the view". (i.e. "Will-a-hardcopy-of-episodes-1-5--be-out-before-my-birthday-Oct-16?" is less of a potential discussion thread as it is something you may put in an email to TT, neither did I get the point why anyone would be interested in seeing Guybrush introducing Murray to Elaine or why there must be two different posts for "How good are these episodes?" and "How funny is the game?"
No offense, but I believe I'm not the only one around here feeling a little annoyed by this way of hyper posting.
You should see my cat 'Moose', she's hyper-affectionate and as for forgiving, once I stepped on her tail by mistake so she yelped out in pain. I picked her up and gave her a huge hug to let her know it was a mistake and I was sorry. Within 3 seconds of picking her up she started licking my nose and purring. I'd say that's fairly forgiving.
In general though dogs are more affectionate but I actually quite admire the independent nature of most cats.
More (or ANY) cats in future Monkey Island games I say, but for goodness sake, no cat-hair-moustache puzzles thank you very much!
ahaha that brings memories of CoMI. That dog was so lazy .
I love that dog, really cool dog on blood island. I really have to find out if there's any sort of dog in EMI now. LOL, thanks for the fun responses, I was optimistic that someone would post something fun. Thank you.

Anyway, Piranha Poodles in SMI, Walt and Guybrush (the dog) in MI2, whatshisname in CMI. And yeah, can't remember any in EMI.
Probably inside the giant manatee.

This thread is stupid. So is your response.
Why so serious?
His name is Fury after all not Furry. I don't get it either honestly.

And we have Sam & Max in all of them, if you count that as a dog.

at least its not a poll asking whether or not a dog should be in the game.
