You have a point. A point I agree with. Telltale delaying the awesomenessness of MajusArts. The bastards! And releasing at the end of the month, so close to the end of the month that it will be the next month for everyone not in their timezone. Gah.

Keep making these vids. They're freaking awesome.

You might be overreaching here? We're relasing it on the 29th, in the Pacific time zone. As far as I know, there isn't a time zone that is 33 hours away from us, so unless I'm mistaken in that, it will be in September for everyone.

I know that you're not excited about when we're putting out 103, but you have been posting with the same message in multiple threads and the blog for days now. People know your opinion, man!

I'm not too worried about that, but I didn't realize TT was controlling the release of these vids. Are they paying Majusarts or something? I always assummed he was independent, but TT knew in advance what was coming. I dunno.

He did the first one on his own for Narwhal and we offered to support production of the rest of them!

Actually for those (like me) who stupidly purchased the game through Steam it will be the wrong month and thus late. So hah.

Majus, you truly are an inspiration to us all. That was AWESOME!

Yeah, they do, Fury. Take a break. Jake, may I just say that I don't really care when it comes out, as long as it does. Man, you guys must be running around the office like constipated wiener dogs about now. First PAX holds you up a little, then all us fans complaining about it... I feel for you!
  • edited September 2009
Since i kinda brought this up, i only want to point out that i wasn't by any means complaining, and even less about the actual date given

I guess that'll teach me to post about stuff i don't even care so much about ;)

I think it's really cool how a random flash video done by a fan can become something official, it just goes to show that if you put in the effort you will receive recognition for it.

I wonder, can we expect to see more of these videos for other TT games? Such as for sam and max season 3? That would be awesome.

Wait... if this wasn't the Pirate Day Surprise...then what was?!?

Just yesterday I was wondering what happens in the "I wonder what happens in TMI Lair of the Leviathan" animation. And here it is -- so funny.

Very great job Majus and everyone else involved. I LOL'd.

Majus, I just have to remember you [sic] that you are

THE GREATEST MONKEY ISLAND FLASH CREATOR EVER!!!

To be fair, your probably one of the only

BUT STILL! I would have to say that your newest chapter is on par/might be slightly better then your second chapter, and I mean that in the huge complementary way. I don't see how, but like Telltale, you somehow manage to surpass yourself consistently.

And of course I couldn't forget the other wonderful people who worked on the film. The background and voice acting was great. I would also like to congratulate the new cast member for a job well done.

Would me saying "Keep up the good work," just be stating an overly obvious fact? Too late, it has been said. I wish all of you the best.

[Edit] Somebody said the bad English was detracting, but I thought it added to the humor. Don't worry about it.

If it wasn't for the fact that Guybrush doesn't have a hand on that side, using Murray as a hand puppet is the funniest thing Guybrush has ever done to the poor skull.

I'd love for us to do more sponsored stuff for our different series, but we'll see. We generally try to do different things for the different games (eg for Strong Bad there was obviously a lot of crazy stuff the Chapmans did in tandem with us on the Homestar site like the Baddest of the Bands trailer and Dangeresque Puppet Squad, and for Sam & Max Season Two, Nick and I put together fake cinematic trailers each month), so who knows, but this has been fun so far.
Wait... if this wasn't the Pirate Day Surprise...then what was?!?

    A good question!

Can we ask if its monkey island related? I mean it has to be pirate related, for sure, but what could it be?

Man i feel so proud for Silverwolf and Majus, both of those dudes are sooo sooo talented. Majus has that artistic art, and good animation for a person with no preparation, this thing must be encouraging for em. For Silverwolf we have seen his videos in youtube and his creative talent of always coming up with something new. Im proud of em, and i dont even know em personally.

Good work on TTG on supporting this two guys! I see great things ahead of em!

    Arrrrrrhhhh!!

Unfortunately, I'm at work, so I can't crank up the volume. But animation and backgrounds are at the top now. Money well earned! The first gag with Morgan is definitly the best. Ah, old times...

I'm really glad that Daedalic has chipped in. Hope they didn't rip you off for your enthusiasm's sake. I'd be very willing to write e-mails to every budding German adventure game firm with a game in the pipeline to tell them that a Majus-made Flash-movie is obligatory for their game to be worth ANYTHING. :D

Oh, and if you ever need another voice actor (just 160 km away from Aschaffenburg, that's were you reside, right?), I'd be more than willing to take the trip. Offer: Male voice with a strong twang, exaggerated acting and university-level English. ;)

In exchange, I'd like some Photoshop coloring lessons from Mr. Köhler. Damn, he's getting good!! And whatever I do, I invest dozens of hours in a coloring project, while he seems to be at ludicrous speed.

5.5 stars! You guys get an extra .5 star for the bad English that still managed to be funny, and because I could never make a funny flash animation in German, even if I knew how to use flash. Or draw. Or act. Anyway, kudos!

What can I say that hasn't been said?!
    You're truly an artist, Majus.
I'm kinda getting used to that Guybrush voice, hehe.

I like the fact that Murray says things in the video he should have said in #4. It's like they skipped the 4th game..Hmmmm. :)

um i hate to say this but... i don't get the anchor jokes... can someone explain them to me... (i just know i'm going to feel stupid when i finally understand the jokes)

It´s a joke about something that happen in CoMI. I´ll try not to spoil very much, so you can read safely:
In CoMI Guybrush wins a prize and he choose an anchor instead of Murray

I always felt bad for Murray after that scene, considering he was trying his very best to become friends with Guybrush and still be EVIL!

I love how guybrush breathes in before he does the magic with his famous "oh look" lines.

    These shorts are great.

I loved that bit, it was the funniest bit in the whole vid. Really clever, remined me of sam and max 204.

Hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. Great writing too.

"Hey guys, I got the T-shir—MANATEEeee (splash)."

    "I hate you."
    "I love you...(ahem) Sorry."

"Is that THE ANCHOR?! You still have the anchor?!"

    "Use. Murry. With. Uvula."

^Best lines. Laughed out loud at them all.

By the way, Telltale, could you make a Murray hand puppet for me?
  • edited September 2009
Everybody, thank you very very much for every kind word. The motivation for the next chapter already boils, seriously, I didn’t expect that big respose!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Yeah, The toon was pretty funny. I made the mistake of never watching the previous videos before. Thankfully Telltale stuck this video up on Facebook where I saw it. Funny stuff.

And I also want a Murray puppet! :p
