Chapter 5 Ending Ruined.. Via Scribblenauts

edited September 2009 in Tales of Monkey Island
I have *accidently* stumbled upon the ending of Ep5 - Rise of the Pirate God.

Via Scribblenauts, a children's DS game.

If you type in "Guybrush Threepwood", it says

"Mis-spelled word, did you mean "God""

So Guybrush IS the pirate god!

Way to ruin it Scribblenauts!

I haven't even heard of 'the scribblenauts', and I doubt many do, so, yeah, if this is true... Good going on ruining it....

    Huh?

Yeah right, a children's game knows the ending of ToMI...

That's not even a good joke.

A children's game? I think that game is for everyone, and it's very cool!

That reminds me, I have to try and see if there's a rubber chicken with a pulley in the middle in Scribblenauts! Can you imagine all the puzzles that would solve??

Oh man, I haven't even thought of that yet!

that's the most retarded reason that guybrush is the pirate god in a game that's not even created yet.

What about my theory that he's been the Pirate God all along, because he's "died" and then bee "reborn"? While, in the first game, he comes down from the "top of the screen" as a messianic figure?

    You mean Dominic's theory.

    That's shamless ripping off there.

While, in the first game, he comes down from the "top of the screen" as a messianic figure?

    When does that happen?
  • edited September 2009
    Start of the game.

That was Dominic's theory though, not Rather Dashing's.
  • edited September 2009
That was probably more a cross between the coming down from the lookout post (which would be silly at ground level) and showing off scumm's sprite scaling capabilities.
  • edited September 2009
Yeah. If you read through the private pirate forum questions for dominic page, this is discussed, but Rather Dashing claims he came up with it.

To me, it seems a bit silly. Guybrush isn't god..

    Or is he?....
  • edited September 2009
of course he's not... if you write a name in the game they didn't add it just simply choses an other one. Try writing your name and if it says: ,,did you mean god,, then you are a god or what? Seriously write your name in the game

I dunno, it seems like a pretty big hint to me. I think Guybrush is god. And I think that because of Psychonauts.
  • edited September 2009
    I mean scribblenauts.

Psychonauts is way better than scribblenauts.

See, that's what happens when you tune out.

Now I might go play Psychonauts. That game was freaking awesome.

They probably mean that Guybrush is the best-est character ever.

For some reason I see Guybrush empregnating Morgan and the child being the pirate god.
