Why do Guybrush and Elaine love each other?
It's been so long since I've played 1 and 2 which I think go over it the best, 4 second to 1 and 2. In 2 they almost break apart and so by seeing the solutions to their problems take form we get a sense of why they do stay together and the testament of their love but I don't remember the second game...The 3rd game is mostly Elaine as a gold statue, the 4th game has a fair amount of speaking to Elaine at the beginning of the game and their already together so she's more honest and sincere about her feelings. I've never been too sure about Guybrush's true mature feelings about anything...the first game was just silly, love at first sight type of deal, though these games aren't serious games this is my new thread.

Hmm, I guess it's just Guybrush's loveable charms then. Yeah, that's it.
I don't think so. That dock scene in Secret of Monkey Island after Sherrif Shinetop
Then there's the scene at the end with the fireworks, where you can say something silly, or romantic.
I don't remember much about Monkey Island 2, but there's the whole bit at the Govenor's mansion where she's trying to tell Guybrush she isn't interested, but then don't you get to talk her around and admit that she really does have feelings, still?
And I totally buy the marriage proposal in Curse of Monkey Island and the wedding at the end. I love that! After a third game you expect things to have moved on. You can't just have Guybrush and Elaine going through some endless loop of cat and mouse games in every game. I'm glad they got hitched in the end.
Because in Escape of Monkey Island, you start to see a whole new dynamic between them with the open quips of affection, funny pet names, marriage jokes and other things.
And I like how in Tales of Monkey Island they seem to really be working more as a team married couple! You get funny moments like in Launch of the Screaming Narwahl's opening where LeChuck still wants Elaine to be his bride and Guybrush gets to point to his ring and say "look, buddy we're married!" (not a real quote, but paraphrasing).
And in Siege of Spinner Cay you get to see interact more with Elaine than ever before and that moment
Just my observations...
