I'm probably not the only one thinking this. That they exist and end up influencing other games and companies to use them in games that don't need it.
That Activision and Treyarch are trying to ride off of Battle Royale's success and are not being original. Hey, at least there's no more Supply Drops, but there is a hecking Battle Pass in a call of duty game. Just flipping make your own ideas, Activision!
What annoys me is that now every other game will probably mostly be battle royales, like whats next, the wolf among us battle royale xD
Lol, I hope not I really hope Skybound comes up with a battle royale The Walking Dead game/app??
When the game keeps changing the meta of it every damn season.
What annoys me the most is that it became a trend. Like seriously, what's so good about them? How did this become a big deal in 2017? It's basically the same thing as old Battle Royale games that came out before PUBG and Fortnite. Not only that, most of the game studio are now trying to take inspiration from them and try to make their own Battle Royale mode. EA and Activision just jumped right into it (Because they're obviously money eaters), they cancelled Black Ops 4 story mode and replaced it with Battle Royale.
The genre in general is awful. your chances from the get go are already low, but as someone who's usually awful at FPS games and shit, you get one life and that's it. you get no real chance to see yourself improve or learn much, you either land somewhere and dont encounter anyone for a shit ton of time and make it to the last like 20 and get shot by someone who more hours than you from miles away cause these games never have any matchmaking or
you survive on dumb luck itself, make it to the last 5 and lose anyway... or win by dumb luck and feel no sanctification from it. I dunno... i personally don't see the appeal.
It's an annoying trend too.
