I suspect this one will come a bit earlier because it's likely going to reuse Flotsam Island with the addition of a couple sets.

    October 20th.
They have proven that they can make brilliant episodes in 3 weeks and it has to be a tuesday.

That would mean that episode 4 would come out 4 days after my Birth Day!

Oct 31st. "The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood" released on Halloween sounds about right.

Except that Halloween is a Saturday this year.

    Ah. Well, 30th then.

It's usually the last Tuesday of every month... So Oct. 27th is a shoe in.

I honestly can't be bothered to care. As long as it is within the confines of what is defined as the Month of November by means of the PST timezone, I'll be happy. If there's a disaster, then a proper and clear explanation sometime in the Month of November, then I'd be fine with anything through the 15th of December.

It's really a non-issue. They give themselves a full month of buffer time, they then narrow that down to a full day of buffer time, I paid knowing that they do this, I'm not going to be upset if they land in that timeframe.

I'm going with the 19th. A little shorter than the cycles thus far on account of less need for new sets.

    October 27th, Monkey Tuesday.

    i voted Decemberween...

    what is Decemberween?

I voted October 31st but now that I think about it Frogacuda could be right. If they are reusing Flotsam Island, which is pretty close to a given, they might be able to get this one out a little sooner then four weeks. Here's hoping :D

    November 10!!!

31th, use all the time you need to ensure Quality just like Blizzard almost :) no sense to release it before, might as well use every single moment to get the overall crazy polish of Episode 3.

    3 november.

I voted October 27th. As others have said, they release on a Tuesday, and I reckon their aim (at the moment) is to get it out one month after the last chapter. They may push it back later due to issues and the like, but that's the current plan they have I reckon.

I really don't think reusing Flotsam is a real timesaver. I say this for three reasons: 1) it might be done at night; 2) it might go into new places/buildings (the Courthouse is a given) and 3) they still have to write & record the dialogue, get new models & animations for the new models (judge, jury, prosecutor and defence), tie it all together and do their usual testing & debugging.

Releasing it on 31st makes no sense, to my mind. It looks as though the last chapter requires more work than the next and MI just isn't anywhere Hallowe'en (okay pirates, voodoo and undead can be scary but that's as far as it goes).

I WANT Telltale to release the game in mid November or even later. I want them to take their time, make it longer, add in extra puzzles, easter eggs and additional dialogue. The longer they take to make it, the higher quality the episode will be! Take your time Telltale and don't listen to the inpatient ones who want the games to be released at a time that suits them (which is usually impossible to meet)...

They have a size limit because of the Wii version, so extra puzzles, dialogue and duration are sadly not options :(

Apparently IGN and Wikipedia have Chapter 4's release date down as October 14th, probably not true but that would seem a little too close to Chapter 3, its a least 3 weeks off and I could see it as a maybe but I think the week after is more reliable

Well, if they want to push it right to the limit so that they get lots of testing and development time in there, and stick within the October deadline, and taking into account timezone variations around the world, then I'd say it would be out on October 30th.

That way it's at the end of the month, giving them lots of time.
It's still in October, which is within the deadline.
And even in the evening on October 30th, around the world in time zones ahead of PST, it won't be November 1st, it will still be October 31st which is within the October deadline.

    So it fits all!

nope... everybody will be watching the new Michael Jackson movie :D.

@ The Commissioner: if they deliberately leave it to the end of the month, that leaves them less time to produce the last installment within November.

I'm of couse assuming here that, although different ppl in teams do different things and that the work is blocked such that writing comes first, followed by graphics and sound (including dialogue), then pulled together in the engine, followed by vigorous testing and debugging, that there will be some overlap due to finishing touches.

i say just whenever its done is fine with me really. It is going to be released and it will be good, so knowing those facts will help me sleep at night.

hmmm...IGN is reporting the release date as October 14th, and October 14th isn't on the poll :(
  • edited October 2009
October 30th is my guess. The first game came out on a Tuesday, the second game came on a Friday, the third game came on a Tuesday again - October 30th would be a Friday again, and it's still October. That would fit.

What makes you think that they can't release chapter 5 on November 29th? That's still November and around 30 days (approx month) apart from the end of October.

They're still cutting themselves short than if they release it then and not earlier. All the other episodes have needed a gap of more than a month between each other.

It seems to me there's slightly less to do on ch4 because it reuses locations on Flotsam and is based (for at least half the episode) in one room (the courtroom in the courthouse).
