Missing guybrush picture

I am on the ship over the manatee cave, but I do not have the picture with me.
I recall picking it up near noogie, but it is not in the inventory.

What now, does the game have to be restarted?

Is this a bug?

Why would the picture disappear?

any help would be appreciated.

    please check inside the manatee if you really picked up the picture (you can enter it if you know how)
    If it stays lost you will have to start a new game.
