Morgan Leflay should have her own spin off games?

She is a great character and all that but I think if she had a spin off the feel of the game would have to be completely different.

For a start she isnt too keen on puzzles exactly and I dont think it could work if she wasnt running around killing people....which would normally be a fun idea but it just wouldnt fit into the series too well

Yes, it would have to be very different but that's ok. There's clever ways to assignate people too, though I don't know what the over lying theme would be, with pirates dying down and all. There couldn't be guybrush appearances...

    It's tied, hehe.

Naaaah. Maybe if Murray devoured her soul. And then we could turn it to a Ninja Gaiden type of game with lots of blood, evil laughs, maybe some scorpion from streetfighter stuff asw. Could be worth a purchase.

I would play it.... but I guess I would rather just have more regular Monkey island with her in it..... I think it would be cool if she ended up obsessed with LeChuck sort of like what Harley is for the Joker.... It could make for some great story telling she would really hate Elaine then because both the men she liked are in love with her.

I'd play it, but she doesn't necessarily need one.

It would have to be mouse-only control though.
(Now, I wonder if anyone will notice that I'm reusing jokes from another threa... OOPS! THINKING ALOUD!)

Nah, because a lot of what makes Morgan interesting is her interactions with Guybrush. We'd need to have that, and if that's going to be the case why not just have another MI game?

I voted yes to make it more interesting, 11- 19. 1 away from 10 and 1 away from 20.

D'awwww, thats cute. When I was a little kid the cool thing to have was a pullback'n'go die-cast metal Percy from Thomas the Tank Engine. (Metal, thats how long ago it was.)

lol. I'm going to go play some sam and max or TTG tales episode 3 and start collecting grubs. I love to do tedius and difficult tasks.

LOL, Irishmile I think I used to have one of those when I was a kid. Fun stuff, if you like maths :)

I can't imagine a spin off, but if in chapter 4 we get to play as others for awhile (I imagine playing as Morgan very briefly while Guybrush is in jail) it'd be alot of fun. Imagine what would be in her pockets?

"It's my assasins ledger. Handy for any bounty hunter. Guybrush put it back inside the wrong boot."

Fun things like that make me smile, look how cool it was to check the Voodoo lady's pockets for random things.

    Nooo, no spin offs, please!

Why does she need a spin off series? That's stupid. She's barely established herself as a character in the universe yet. Not that she hasn't made a great appearance, but it's a little early to be thinking of any such spin offs...

I used to have one of those!!! I think my parents still have it! Loved that thing....for some odd reason.

i think it would have to be a swordfighting game, not an adventure game if someone was to do it(as much as i do love adventure games). i wonder who owns the Morgan Leflay name, if it would be lucasarts or telltale?
  • edited October 2009
I would imagine all things in Tales of Monkey Island created for the game would be owned by lucasarts... Think of it like TTG was hired to create for them but they do not get to keep what they make because LA pretty much bought it.

Not necessarily. I don't think TTG is exactly a subcontractor here. They're co-producing and co-publishing, so they probably share rights to those sorts of things.

i wonder if we can get someone from TTG to clear this up? :)

I doubt most of the TTG people would even know..... its something their lawyers would have gone over with the top people in each company.

I used to have a "Little Professor" too! Thing ate batteries, thanks to the LED display!
  • edited October 2009
Yeah I think we barely ever had batteries for our... I think we just ended up throwing it at each other..

i REALLY want to know this now...just out of curiosity...

As much as I like her character in the game, I wouldn't want to see a whole game with her as the central character.

That sure is one Kooky Calculator, they should work that into the game.
