Tax question

I read that if you buy Sam and Max season one, the tax will be around $5.
Then normally there would be a tax on Ankh.

Now my question:
On what is the tax based? The price you pay in total or a purchase in general?

It's to know if need to wait to buy them together.

Tax is calculated as a percentage of each item you buy. It is based on where you live and it's something the e-commerce site who handles the Telltale Shopping Cart calculates for you.
Telltale has no control over the tax and they can't tell you in advance how much it's going to be.

I think that if you are in Europe, it might make more sense to order Ankh directly from Deck13. Because they're based in Germany, I think the tax doesn't apply, but don't quote me on that.

    I just compared the prices.
    -Here it's $20 (or €15,62)
-There it's €35 for the Dutch version.

So even with no tax there I prefere to buy it here.

I asked DR about this and received this response:
Sales tax is automatically computed on both product(s) and shipping
costs. Pursuant to the Digital VAT Directive, as of 1st July 2003,
European customers will be charged VAT on all downloadable digital
    products and services, including software.

I also know that sales tax is charged for people in certain states.
