They can leave the wig away as long as Stan won't look as crappy as he did in EMI. ;)

Correction: as long as Stan won't look as crappy as EVERYTHING did in EMI.

kinda double posting, but this applies to both threads so :p

Come'on Stan as a lawyer? I see it coming I just don't know if he would even agree to help Guybrush out. I mean come'on? Buying a boat on stolen Credit? Nailing him in a coffin? and running a life insurance scam on him? I think he'd be more apt to TESTIFY AGAINST Guybrush more than anything

Hey, LeChuck looked pretty badass in his demon form. His character model was the only one I liked for EfMI.

Yeah, but Stan rarely remembers Guybrush he always starts off with "What's your name again?" or something of the like. Stan is so self involved, he just likes the sound of his own voice. If Guybrush has money, Stan will take it.

Lets hope for Guybrush's sake that LeChuck will not be representing him.

I think they Lawyers from escape would be a nice touch I thought they where funny.

Yeah I dont know why, but Must people didn't care for them. I got a good kick out of telling them all the Lawyer jokes, I thought they were going to sue me!

Surely Stan has to be selling second-hand items. Previously used nooses?
Don't stick your neck out for one of the new fangled models on the market today!

Don't be pulled up short by an inferior product!

Go with one of Stan's PREVIOUSLY USED NOOSES - each one has a proven track record and is guaranteed to leave you hanging!

The discerning executionee wouldn't be caught DEAD in anything else!

Stan would be perfect. I miss him... And his jacket...
  • edited October 2009
I really hope they use him again, but they should use his Curse voice and look (but in Tales style 3d, of course). In Escape, he looked and sounded weird.

Imagine how funny Stan would be if he had the pox.... Evil Stan trying to sell you things or else.
  • edited October 2009
Maybe if he had a poxattack, his coat would suddenly turn green and red instead of pink and purple.

Wouldn't "previously OWNED" be a bit more accurate ;)
  • edited October 2009
The stationary lines on his jacket will look odd in 3D.

I hated his Curse voice. Way too slow and sleazy. Stan's supposed to be wild and erratic, and even his arm-waving was abhorrently too slow in Curse. Now, his DIALOGUE was amazingly well-written and hilarious, but it was bogged down by a horrible execution in terms of voice and animation speed. I don't know if it was a technical issue or what, but he was just plain BAD in Curse.

Disagree, Stan has to be suave as well as quick, and it was done well in Curse, and the animation was quick.

Escape is where the ball was dropped. He just sounded pathetic more than anything else, and he looked really weird.

In Curse he sounded exactly how I had imagined him sounding in MI 1 and 2. I was rather surprised by it, really.
  • edited October 2009
I liked his voice better in Escape. It gave me a "Phil Hartman as a used car salesman" vibe.

I liked everything else about him better in Curse, especially the conditions of his appearance--the continuation of MI2, and the, you know, fact that it actually had something to do with the story.

The second you said Legal Representation, Stan came to mind. It's like Lionel Hutz on the Simpsons, I lost track how many other jobs he had; Carpenter, Real Estate Agent, Babysitter. I could definitely see Stan doing a Lawyer role. What's Guybrush going to be on trial for anyway? Spreading the pox? Isn't that LeChuck's fault? What was Guybrush supposed to do? Not Kill him or not leave Floatsam Island? (Sorry for ending the last few with a question mark but I'm just wondering)

I kinda agree there. Alot of people hate EMI so they automatically dismiss even the little redeeming things like Stan. He was "ok" given the outdated 3d models they worked with and the voice was fast and effective for his character.
Although it's still my least favourite Stan appearance, but I wouldn't call it horrible.

One more person rags on MI4 needlessly and I will shake my finger at them disapprovingly

Can I still needlessly rag on the third game?
  • edited October 2009
Sure if you want me to raise an eyebrow and stare in your general direction until we are both a little uncomfortable.
  • edited October 2009
I actually agree with Dashing on this one. I felt like Stan was too slow and stationary in the third game.

I watched a play through of EMI and they barely showed Stan at all. Is he necessary? What does he do? What does he sound like?

Stan is confirmed for Chapter 4.

Stan is a natural salesman - he can't help it, no matter WHO the customer.

In all honesty I can't see any way that this prediction is going to NOT be true. Damn me for reading this thread! I wanted Stan to be a surprise!

I disliked almost everything about EMI, but I liked EMI Stan better than CMI Stan. CMI Stan talked and moved to slowly. The voice was good, but he didn't talk fast enough. Stan is a fast-talkin salesman, so the voice actor needs to have a fast delivery.
