There are probably a lot of reviews already done, but there is a media embargo till the game gets out.

Is Largo in charge of it?

darn you just make want to break down the imaginary glass doors down with a garbage bin and take all copies of Chapter 4 home with me and the res of the fans lol

That's how desperate I am to play it right now

I'm really shocked that there are no reviews up yet. There were stacks of reviews for the first 3 chapters the day before release. Oh well, I guess I'll just play the game for myself tomorrow.

The review copy download email was only sent out in the last hour, so you may well be playing tomorrow before reading any reviews.

Thanx for letting me know. I"ll now be able to sleep peacefully at the same time I normally got to bed (Which is not very late, believe me) instead of wasting my time pressing F5 every 5 seconds and getting sore eyes.

I sure hope the review copies are relatively bug-free.... since they only have like a day at most to fix any of them.

    Here's our review! http://talesofmi.net/?p=696

Possibly the first one out there... I've got blisters on my fingers.

Yeah, the poor press guys didn't get much of a jump on the rest of the gaming public. The upside is that they are playing the exact same build of the game as everyone else. Usually the press builds don't get a lot of the final polish that goes into the released version.

[edit] Also, thanks for the great review Haggis! Too kind as always.

There's a rather poor review out on IGN right now. They basically complain that the episode isn't funny enough and about the plot twists.

IGN have really disappointed me so far in their "it just sucks" approach to reviewing Tales

its because telltale doesn't advertise with ign is why they get low ratings from ign

IGN's review was severely flawed with to much spoilers imo.

I agree, IGN often seems biased in their views. As well as overly generous to undeserving big name titles.

I'm still waiting for ZeitgeistReview's thoughts on the game.

All I know it that IGN doesn't know what they're talking about. In addition to giving phony release dates, they rated one of the best chapters the lowest out of the four. God forbid they should give a game that is not made by Nintendo a good score, fanboys

#1: Do people actually read the text of IGN reviews?
#2: Going off the text, I'd say they were way too easy on Chapter 4. Based in the number, they were a bit too easy on Chapter 4.

You played chapter 5 already?!

Yes, don't you remember? The tarot cards contained "The infinite possibilities of the future". Anyone who got to that point has actually played every Monkey Island game to ever exist from this point onward.

I think that any website that prints phrases like "Our frothing demand for this game increases," continually, every day, in every review, and then gives God Hand a 3/10 is a parody website. IGN is just that, but it doesn't know it.

Stan's jacket glitch is a series in-joke. It's been there since Monkey Island 1.

Was it really necessary to spoil
    Morgan's death
    by showing
    her corpse
    ?

In fairness to IGN, it's almost impossible to review this episode without spoilers. I've decided not to review any more chapters, and save it all for a full season review when Chapter 5 lands. It's very awkward otherwise.

I'd actually agree with that. The ideas are good, the story is very serious and involved, and the length is good. But the writing and cleverness and laugh out loud humor is just not there like it was in ch. 3. It's better than 1 and 2 though, for sure.

Even though it wasn't too bad, I'm in disbelief and almost a little offended that they included YET ANOTHER jungle maze. I liked the idea for the map folds, but - like the whole game so far - it was a good idea nearly wasted by making it WAY too easy.

    And don't call me shirley.

The Mojo review is up now at http://www.mixnmojo.com/features/read.php?article=tmi4

I'm aware that this is open to some level of backlash, but it is heartfelt and possibly open to misinterpretation, so I'll repeat what I said in the comments there:

"I realise that my review may be something of a minority report but I know I'm not alone in how I feel about this episode. Finally, if it seems overly critical it's because chapter 3 had raised my expectations so high. A non-reactionary, even-headed read of the text will reveal that I did indeed have a good time with the episode - just not as much as I thought I would."
