well noticed, possibly it's just a mess up in the screen shot, glitch in the game, and they wanted to cover it up. Or they changed the table or whatever it is after the screenshot was taken and, for some reason, instead of taking a new one just touched the old one up

    What? I don't see it..

look exactly on the unaltered picture where the red rectangle is on the bottom pic and you see there is an incosistency in the background in the shape of a rectangle, like someone has cut and pasted a pic to cover something up

Oh, I see! My computer was tilted so it wasn't noticable.

Looking at the concept art that would be a table top with a rickety boarded top and a skull candle on top...

    It's the pox that's bugging the 3d engine! :O

    Very nice catch!
I wonder why they would do that...

    (In before 'Murray?!')

    Wow, incredible spotting there.

    But what are they hiding?!?

    Guybrush the dog from MI2?

No, wait. Remember that other screenshot where Elaine and Morgan are fighting?

I think it's a body. Either Elaine's or Morgan's. And somehow Guybrush would be framed for it.

Maybe it was a bad screenshot that they tried to make prettier?

Oh ok I see now... here it is lightened up a little.

If that was intentional "photoshopping" by someone at Telltale then I hope it was done by their janitor!

I'm by no means an expert but that's painfully obvious with no apparent attempt at remotely lining anything up.

    Disclaimer:

No offense to janitors or the dude that did the photoshopping should that be the case......

It's much more visible there, good work lightening the image.

Are we gonna get a Telltale Staff Member Of Awesomeness to comment on this, or is just gonna be something to laugh at?

or wait until tomorrow to see what is hiding behind it?

    It's a giant ROCK??? Awesome!

Whatever it is, it's sitting on a table, or someone/something short poking out from behind the table.

Maybe this is at the end of the episode, post execution, and it's Guybrush's head sitting on a silver platter with an apple in his mouth.
  • edited October 2009
that would be nice. and the rest of his body could be getting around with a prosthetic head.

If you notice, the pasted rectangular portion was copied from behind the woman, also.

    Seen here:

    The mystery deepens........

The thing they removed could have given away a puzzle solution.

    or

They could have been trying to center the focus on the girl in the screen and got rid of some noise.

As for the less then stellar photoshop job that sort of thing happens sometimes.... it may have looked great on their screen with their color settings... its happened to me where I do something and it looks great at home but when I see it at someone elses house I go "whoa!! tons of mistakes"

I have a feeling it might be a depth of field issue, where the fuzziness of the background might have a glitch in that scene.

A large, rectangular glitch that just happens to shift wildly to the left for no apparent reason and nothing else changes?

I'm guessing Ozzie didnt read the whole thread let them catch up with the rest of the class. LOL

That's nothing. Look at the blatant photoshopping in this screenshot:

    photoshoop.jpg

It took me a moment to catch it, but once I did, it hit me like a ton of bricks.

LOL, didn't think of that. Just seeing that it was fuzzed out in the background got me thinking.

    Yeah.

    It's a worry.

    Telltale are hiding something.

Maybe it had someones bank details.

Look closely at Guybrush's nose. That's clearly from one of the stock NPC models.

Also, yet another typo in the text... "liek cow" instead of "liek a cow"? C'mon, Telltale.

Oh my God, you're right! I can't believe I didn't see it at first! And for Club 41, I'd say it's Stan's passed out body they're covering up. Being stranded on Flotsam made it impossible for him to run a second hand store since the only things he could get second hand were the flotsam that wound up on the beach. And when it comes to beach flotsam, first come first served. After he's assigned to be your defense, you'll have to revitalize Stan and bring his mercantile spark back to life to get him back to his old double-time, slick-talking self.

Or Jake did this on purpose to mess with us. He's tricky that one.

Perhaps Telltale did it intentionally to get us speculating, perhaps keeping us distracted... >_>

    or... Murray?!? :D

    Or...
Maybe they just thought that the skull was too cool to be hidden behind her?
And copy/pasting the background part instead of generating a new screenshot?

I mean it doesnt HAVE to be a sinister plot to distract the observant (?) members of this board.

But I kind of hope it is!!:D
