Well you're not a true Monkey Island fan until you accept everything in Monkey Island even if you hate it. Example: You may hate Escape from Monkey Island but you except it exists and is canon cause it's official material. :D

Plus Ozzie is one of my favourite characters :)

    ok I'll wait lol :D

Maybe from now on they could like also provide times around the other world when other people can download it :)

So what day is it over there for ya in what ever merry old place you live in?

So: "This Friday (PST)!" on the front page isn't enough for you? PST=Pacific Standard Time. Is reading comprehension too much for you asw?

Well many series have had their plot errors and it's not first time this has ever happened ever. Plus until otherwise, we have to accept that Herman is Horatio until an OFFICIAL source says otherwise.

Plus just to say EMI is my favourite MI game. Mainly it's because it was the first MI game I ever played. I loved it how it's gameplay was identical to Grim Fandango but improved which got me so into it. :)

I'd rather wake up on a bright, sunny, Australian morning with birds singing and flowers blooming and find the new episode of ToMI waiting for me than to get it late on a dark, lonely, dingy night :D. Might've exaggerated the morning and the night a little

EST is Texas (Houston). It's like 5.00 there now...... patience...

It's really rather simple. The launch of a new Telltale is announced with the site being replaced with a picture of Sam & Max annoying a stick man.

    Uhhhh how is this blasphemy?

Um if you use your eyes, you can easily see both Fandango and EMI use the same engine except EMI has an updated engine. It's not rocket science. ;)

sorry, I just can't comprehend EMI improving over Grim Fandango in any way ;)
  • edited October 2009
The only improvement I found between Grim Fandango and EMI is the action sentences that appeared on the low part of the screen, making a little easier to interact with the scene items. And maybe the inventory is better since you can see all the items you carry at once, not one by one.
But the character movement is even harder to control in EMI than in GF, specially in the maps or when changing from one screen to another.

Grim Fandango is a pain without a controller, I had to go and buy a $10 logitech one just for it. EMI was on ps2 and was easier...

wait a minute... I played EMI on PC....

I found Monkey Island controls easier, it was mapped to the keyboard instead of having the four buttons, I can't remember as it was ages ago but I don't remember having too many issues, but Grim Fandango was awful to control.

Still, GF is the best adventure game ever made.

Well look I'll have to admit there are more Fandango fans than EMI fans but look:
*Fandango and EMI had about the same graphics and resolution.
    *EMI had mini-games.
*EMI had the added feature of combining items.

these are what I can list so far but I'm sure there are others.

I think next time they should just put a countdown timer on the site instead of posting a date, then we can avoid threads like this..........

I would not expect it until well into the afternoon Pacific Time. If you have somewhere to be, something to do, or sleep to be had, don't wait. Otherwise, you're going to be staring at the computer for quite sometime.

    You have been warned.

They specifically said it's by PST after a lot of European/Australian users complained about the first date.. I understood the anger the first time, but since then they've made it clear it won't be until much later in the day for most.

I don't think a countdown clock would work, because they're not sure exactly when it'll go up.. which is why they don't give an exact time either. I believe episode 3 was up by this time already, but episode 2 took much longer.

well valve had a countdown for their early release of l4d2 and they were two days off the mark! I'm sure telltale could give a rough estimate
  • edited October 2009
When they put a date and then PST, I (and apparently several others) assume it's midnight since they didn't specify a time since that date technically starts at midnight. Most likely they mean the start of business day or shortly thereafter.

I was hoping to get started playing after work since I get home just before midnight Pacific time.
  • edited October 2009
no they said somewhere on the forum that that it would be later on in the day PST, so I'm guessing around 6pm - 8pm GMT, very possibly it won't be till 11pm - 12 midnight

I'm not really upset, it is just a computer game. I've been through bankruptcy and divorce... This doesn't even compare... :)

Oh wow, it's this thread again. I would have thought by the fourth chapter people would have gotten the concept of different countries operate in different time zones but I guess not.

At least this isn't as bad as these threads!

When I bought it, the first 3 chapters had already been released so I didn't know how long it would take. I assumed it would be midnight PST, but you know what they say happens when you assume...

a countdown would receive responses like this:
is it PST or CET countdown?
is the countdown japanese or have I imported it?
can we get another countdown to countdown?
can we really count on the countdown?
why is it called countdown when a count is something of high status? down is bad right? explain to me I'm spanish!
  • edited October 2009

    explain to me I'm spanish!

LOL, it's 7:40 PST right now, which I think they should make the countdown timer say:

16hrs 20minutes until Monkey Island, and then if it's out early it's a nice bonus, and nobody sits and says "where is it?" until the timer expires!
