I remember hearing it for the first time as a kid and recognizing it as a known song, with an added bridge of "here comes the bride"

I think it was a popular children's song during the 80's but now I can't place it because I know it as stan's theme.

I know it's been stan's song throughout (except MI1). I was just wondering about the origin of the song itself.

No clue, it pretty much sounded like the one from MI2 to me, without the Death March bit at the front.
