Probably not “your favorite character"

"More characters from Monkey Island’s past may make an appearance, but probably not “your favorite character” (sorry friend!)."

When I first read this, I assumed it was referring to Stan, Murray, or both, since they're most likely to be everyone's favorite recurring characters who aren't that essential. After
Murray appeared in ep3 and Stan in ep4,
who do you think this statement is referring to? Or maybe Telltale had a change of heart in the middle of the season? Or they're yanking our chains?

    I think they meant to make Murray's appearance a welcome surprise... I would have liked to see the 3 headed monkey though, or maybe lemon head. If they meant Herman Toothrot then they're about as wonked in the head as he is.
