I can't believe this, what are your backgrounds, morales?

With all this guybrush play boy threads, and sleeping with the hot chick threads...I wonder what sort of backgrounds fans have...

Are you guys satanic, catholic, do you sleep around? Have you cheated on your wives? Do you go around hurting your girlfriends and cheating behind their backs? I'm curious...

I'm Catholic and don't believe in cheating on married couples when things get a little difficult and rough just because there's temptation near by at the moment, I believe in working things out, "for better or worse"...I have values.

So, what religion are you? Do you have standards, are you the sort of person that dates dogs? I'm just curious if you were raised by dogs or not...

I almost regret being a monkey island fan some times...

Okay I'm not sure if this was a pun, an intentional troll, a hoax, or all three or none, but that was pretty funny ._.

Seriously though, it's imagination! It's not like you'll have to pay for your deeds _thinking_ about GT going around with Morgan around the bushes.. or perhaps you will. We might see Guybrush
regretting all his sins while facing the devil himself in the Land of the Dead
in episode 5, or something similar.

    *prod* You're jealous.

In all serious-ness though, it's a combination of quite a few factors that seems to thrive the whole Guybrush + Morgan situation:

    - Elaine had been rather distant & impolite towards Guybrush, yet Morgan seemed to have a crush on him (and women craving is rather overwhelming)
    - Generally speaking Morgan seems to win over Elaine appearance-wise
    - And.. she knows how to
    handle *ahem* swords..

So it's definitely not rocket science that people would like to see Guybrush get the pirate-hunt on!

Maybe this thread isn't necessary. I just remember my grandparents marriage which wasn't always perfect and had hard times but in the end was a true masterpiece, celebration of life. Then I remember my parent's marriage and I'm reminded of how intolerant I am of couples breaking up just because there's a little temptation around at the moment and something else looks better. There's so much beauty and significance to discover inside of all of us and things can work themselves out.

This thread wasn't really necessary, I won't say anything in here that I wouldn't in the Morgan VS Elaine thread, so I guess it's just best left at this post, and alone. Things can always look better under a certain light but I truly believe that two people can love eachother for ever if they just don't loose communication and respect for one another. My father left us like a dog and I never bounced back.

Passion, sex isn't all there is to a marriage, couples, human beings have a much much higher calling than that.

I myself have been in a very happy relationship with my Labrador Retriever and I wouldn't- erm... Maybe I've said too much!

You're welcome to your opinion, but don't be so quick to condemn ALL Monkey Island fans just because some want to see Guybrush and Morgan together! They're fictional characters in a goofy pirate world, we hold them to different standards then we hold ourselves.

That was inspiring to read. Sorry, about your father.

I can relate about the trueness of love, my girlfriend lives about 1400 kilometers away, different nationality even, and we've been together for just over a year now. Hopelessly in love. Key to our relationship was indeed communication, so you have a point. Luckily we see eachother nearly every month. Can hardly wait for wednesday ^.^

To get back on topic, there is a line between imagination & actual conscious actions though. I would never _ever_ think of cheating on someone, but thinking of or seeing the Guybrush do it, wouldn't be too bad.. um.. right?

I'm a 24 year old virgin who doesn't believe in sex until it's a mutual agreement, but also believes people should do whatever the hell they want, except for molesting, killing or torturing people. I also believe that nothing is forever, and that it's pretty foolish to believe in such thing. People should be happy, not live in misery because of a mutual mistake. Hell, that's why people divorce, because they are unhappy and don't want to spend the rest of their lives in misery.

Also, a man who doesn't flong his dong isn't a real man. Hell, a woman who doesn't pet the pet isn't either.

Oh, and rule 34. But I'm obviously not going to link to that. And it's just our imagination. We may dream.

Sorry to hear that your father left you, but geez. The "horny stuff around here" is probably due to a large amount of males on the forum. And in case you might be unaware, guys are horny. Pretty much from puberty to the grave.

I'm happily married with two wonderful children and would never cheat on my wife. Nor have I ever cheated on a girl back when I was an extra-horny teenager. And although I'm not "satanic", I'm not religious either. You don't need to be religious to be a decent person with morals.

Having said all that, my wife laughed when I commented that I thought Morgan "looked pretty sexy". She knows how guys are and where our minds are often at. She also knows I would never cheat on her or intentionally hurt her in any way. I also know she wouldn't do that to me. We also never fight. And we don't even go to church! Amazing!

Again, I'm sorry about your father running off, but not everyone is that bad. I think most of us here are just having a little fun with the innuendo and off-color remarks. That doesn't make us tools of the devil.

I will play... I doubt people really care about my background or this stuff though.

    My name is Justin.
I have a wife named Ntxuaj everyone calls her Zua, because nobody can say Ntxuaj
In fact Zua is her legal alias she is the only person I know who has one, she carries two Social Security cards with each name on it because of this
we are both 29 years old.
We met in officially highschool, where she asked me to take her to homecoming I said yes. She had a crush on my since middle school
I am of Irish stock and she is Hmong (Asian)
We have three kids Mariah and Krystal, girls twins age 10 and a boy Conor age 7
We are not necessarily religious we do not really go to church but we do have a certain degree of faith.

Our marriage has seen some rocky times maybe because we married at such a young age (20) but I think we have matured into a pretty solid couple who love their children, and each other dearly.

Most people who like Morgan would just prefer Guybrush to leave Elaine and go for her instead, or at least hope for Elaine to be even the slightest bit unfaithful so Guybrush has a reason to do this. Yes it's a bit cruel (if you like Elaine, which I do as she's my favorite character) but I haven't seen many people enforce cheating at least.

Anyway, this is one weird thread. : |

I find it interesting that the only religious distinctions you make are "Satanic" or "Catholic". Ignoring the existence of Protestants (not to mention the Mormons and the numerous non-Christian religions) doesn't mean they don't exist. I can understand how one might not agree with the teachings or beliefs of another religion, but going so far as to call them Satanic seems a bit much.

Also, what does this thread have anything to do with Monkey Island or Tales? Just because the number of threads about Elaine v. Morgan sparked the idea doesn't mean it's strictly relevant to the actual topic at hand.

Oh, and my morale is actually pretty high right now, thanks for asking. I also hold myself to a pretty high moral standard. :p

Hurr, I want to bone Morgan. -pelvic thrust- Giggedy, giggedy, all right.

I kid. She's an attractively illustrated cartoon who has grown on me as a character. For a lot of us, our feelings are that we like Morgan a lot and just want to see her have a happy ending, even though we know that it can't realistically be with Guybrush. And yes, maybe a lot of our jokes don't reflect that, but it's hardly reason to call our beliefs into question.

I'll be 22 in two weeks, and my parents have been together all my life, though my dad was married once before (and would not have the happiness he has now if he had stayed that way). I've never had a girlfriend and consider myself to be somewhat agnostic.

I can understand how one might not agree with the teachings or beliefs of another religion, but going so far as to call them Satanic seems a bit much.<snip>

I'll try to say this as delicately as possible, and I really don't care which religion people choose or how serious they want to be about it but.........

From talking with friends and acquaintances who are Catholic, it would seem that that's pretty much the gist of it. If you are not Catholic, you are going to hell. Someone actually told me that once, saying Catholicism is the ONLY true religion. Which leaves those of other religious denominations that still believe in God, not to mention all those poor fools in other countries who worship someone else entirely, to burn in hell. According to some Catholics I have spoken with.

Now I know not all Catholics are this 'holier than thou', and I am not trying to bash the Catholic religion or those who practice it. This is just what I was told, and while the OP is a bit on the extreme side, his/her statements pretty much reinforce that idea. The Catholic church seems to use fear and humiliation (aka confession) to keep people from leaving their flock. Some take this a bit less seriously, and others drive themselves crazy trying to be "perfect". I have seen it happen.

Again, I am not trying to bash anyone's beliefs. I am just giving my observations as to why this thread is even here in the first place.

What does religion has anything to do with standards anyway? I'm an atheist, coming from a Muslim majority country, and now living in a Christian majority country. Yet I can say I've been a more principled and good-hearted person in life than many of the religious (both Muslim and Christian) people I've known.
And back to the main point, the relationship between Guybrush and Elaine, as has been discussed many times before in this forum, doesn't seem a very respect-related one, which is very unhealthy as relationships go. Morgan has actually been the only character so far in all MI games who hasn't made fun of Guybrush, but respected him in a way, so I assume that's why most people here would like to see them together (we want to see our dear Guybrush happy, ok?!) :P
But by the looks of it Guybrush doesn't give into this anyway, so there's no reason you should worry.
I sure hope your reason to open this thread was really a joke!! If not, give people a break; fantasy (especially one about a game character) and real life relationships are quite different.

    lol this thread is hilarious.

    Guybrush + Morgan FTW.

    And I'm atheist.

You seem pretty judgemental for someone who is supposed to be caring and trying to get into "heaven" etc. Just because people aren't religious doesn't mean they don't have morals. And just beacause you have morals doesn't mean you can't think Guybrush would be better off with Morgan. 50% of marriages end in divorce, Guybrush just made a bad decision.

But as you're curious, I would say that a huge proportion of people here, if not a majority, are atheist.

(This is purely from going off the philosophy thread, most people who responded were either athesit or agnostic).

Man, you catholics sure are judgemental.
