LeChuck said that he wanted to lay sege on voodoo its self and then he said looks like we'll be doing this with all the voodoo but what is "this"? mabey he wants to wage war on Nor Treblig

    He probably means he want to get rid of any other voodoo user so he alone has the power. He is tired of the Voodoo Lady interfering with his scenes.

    It must also have to do with the monkeys that he was enchanting in E1 and getting home in E2 and E3 somehow. There is definitely something up with those monkeys.

    Ah yes, the "....like a volcano" joke. I think I got coffee in my nose when I heard that one in-game :)

    I got my friend into Monkey Island. he played for a few hours and said nothing. Next day I asked him what he thought of it and he said:

    "LIKE A MIGHTY VOLCANO"

    Needless to say, he is never off it.

    I bet LeChuck was collecting voodoo artifacts while returning the monkeys to the islands. He may have also wanted the cursed cutlass as he obviously took it after the prologue of chapter 1. I think LeChuck used the voodoo lady's journal to learn about the monkeys and how to become a human, abducted the monkeys and tamped into their mental states to learn their secrets and control them. The secrets would be where the artifacts are hidden and where the summoning items were and so set a course for the Jerkbait islands.

    There, he used the pox to manipulate the poxed pirates to find the artifacts, but eventually manipulated Guybrush to find them for him and go find La Espondge Grande. In the meantime, he found all the voodoo artifacts and then used the pox to get the pirates to arrest Guybrush in order to keep him on the island long enough until he got there, frame the voodoo to get her out of the way, murder Morgan, and waited until Guybrush finished the sponge and soaked up all the voodoo.
