Here is Alexandra Boyd in some of her acting roles both in the US and UK tv.

Forget Elaine vs Morgan, how about Elaine vs Liz McDonald from Corrie

I watched some of the "Coronation Street" episodes and although I could tell that it's Elaine's voice I'm hearing I was surprised at how different it sounded.

I found that a lot of British women speak in a certain high pitched singsong and we can hear that when listening to Elaine.

Still, I could imagine that Alex was told to make Elaine's voice sound a little "higher pitched" to match the comic style of the character? I was surprised at how sexy and quite low pitched Alexandra can make her voice sound (there's this scene when she's on top of Harry on the couch after they spent the night together.) It's a shame that she couldn't give Elaine's voice that sexy touch (or maybe she just interpreted the character differently).

I didn't know that she was in Titanic. But that just shows what a brilliant actress she is, unless someone points it out or you look it up then your not gonna know that its Elaine from MI.

I'm glad that she was chosen to voice Elaine though, I remember thinking the first time I played CMI how perfect Elaines voice was for Elaine. I missed her in EMI, but i'm glad TT & LA brought her back and I hope they keep her on for future Monkey related media.

She does sound pretty different in those videos, at first I couldn't even tell it was Elaine's voice, only after a while of listening to her. I like how she voices Elaine, though, even if her voice is a little high-pitched, but it really fits. I loved Elaine's voice in CMI already, and when I first listened to Elaine's new voice in EMI, I was very disappointed.

Me too. Elaine in EMI, as you all may know, is voiced by Charity James (a shame if you ask me, because IMHO Alexandra "is" Elaine to my ears... with all respect to Charity James of course). Don't know why LucasArts decided this back then, because the voice director was the same person who did CMI too.

Having worked with voice actors/actresses for a couple of years now myself (I'm a sound designer), I've always noticed how well they can change their voice when they are "in character". When we talk outside the recording sessions or even between them, they can change their voice back quite easy. So this is the reason why Alexandra may sound different in movies / tv series.

But Alexandra Boyd always does a magnificent job, and I love her voice with the Elaine character.

Fun fact: Charity James is the voice of Grace on Gabriel Knight 3.

I was watching Disney's 'Tarzan' the other night, and noticed how Minnie Driver's dub of Jane was very reminiscence of Boyd's Elaine. There's that one part in particular when she talks about 'all the monkeys' where you can literally put Elaine on screen lip syncing to that, and it would seem like it's really her.

I loved the Titanic bit. Stunning portrayal of "FIRST CLASS WOMAN"! It's funny when a character doesn't have a name.

To be honest I think she's bloody awful in Curse, but she's much much better at it in Tales. She's particularly good at the Poxed Elaine, you can really tell she's enjoying herself there.

Yeah, I was in love with her poxed voice, it was awesomely done. When you show her the wedding ring in court I got pretty scared!

Wow great research on Alexandra Boyd. Could you do the rest of the cast?

Here's Earl Boen in Terminator 3. That makes both he and Arnie some of the only characters to appear in 3 Terminator films played by the original actor.
