Duty/Taxes rip off

Hi,

I recently purchased some stuff:
Sam & Max Highway Surfing Poster Print (Signed)
Tales of Monkey Island Poster Print (Signed)
Surfin' the Highway Celebration Special

The delivery service cost an arm and a leg to UK at £47.05 ($78) for priority international. I figured that wasn't so bad as the items arrived in about 3 days.

Then about a week after the goods arrived I received an invoice for £46.48 for Duty/Taxes chargers!

This is greater than 50% of the cost of the actual items! Actual cost of the items without shipping is only £84.36.

That's HM Revenue & Customs for you. They charge import VAT for any commercial products purchased from outside of the EU which is over the value of £18.
